I've know a lot of people, and I've actually never known anyone who got pregnant from being raped."

"And guess what?" she continued. "If I got raped, I would have the baby. And if I didn't want to keep it because I had these [mocking tone] horrible nightmares, I would adopt it out. But I think that God can turn a bad thing into a good thing. And that, if I got raped and a beautiful baby who was innocent was born out of it, that would be a blessing. The DNA of a baby is individual. It's not the mother's DNA. It's not the father's DNA. And that's why I believe abortion is murder, because it's not the woman's body. It has it's own DNA. If there's a boy baby inside of me, he has a penis. That's not my body."

In response to Gay Voices blogger Dan Steadman's post, in which he wrote about ending his friendships with both Jackson and Kirk Cameron because of their views on homosexuality, Jackson discussed her gay friends.

"I didn't see [the post] but I love my gay friends," she said. "My best friends who are gay, I've actually never seen them with a boyfriend. It's like -- we've never talked about sex. I don't think people should identify themselves by their sexual life. My identity is in Christ. Some people's identity is in what country they come from. But I don't think people should make their identity about their sex life. That should be private. Why are they in the middle of the street in a parade? Why don't they just have sex in their bedroom alone?"

The baby has a mix of the DNA from the father and the mother, and a few mutation of its own.
How can you first say that NOBODY gets pregnant from rape and then say that you would keep the baby if it happened to you? Contradiction, much?

I bet you have seen your best friends who are straight with boyfriends. Have you talked about sex with them? Why is it that when (some) people see a boy and a girl holding hands they think "Aaawww, how cute!", but when they see two boys holding hands they think "Ick, keep that to yourselves, don't push your sexuality down my throat, you perverts!"?

I think your religion ought to be private, actually. I'd rather know that a person is gay than that a person is Christian fundamentalist.

Ah, the 'some of my best friends are gay' canard.

The only reason that heterosexuals are not seen as identifying with their sexuality (the do!) is because they are a large majority. And to infer that they do notg identify with their sexuality is plain dishonest: courtship, weddings, children, even divorce, important affairs in heterosexual lives, to be sure, are all manifestations of the celebration and indentification of/with heterosexuality. Divorce? Yes, because it leves the partners free to find other legal sexual partners.

As to never talking about sex with a gay friend, I wonder why? It's the most natural thing. My straight friends and I have on occasion exchanged thoughts and ideas on sexuality.

Victoria Jackson may identify with Christ. as she pleases. But if that involves denial of one's sexual desires, or denies sexual expression to others, then I submit is is a manifestion of a mental illness - possibly even a desire to control the lives of others in ways that would not be acceptable if such attitudes were directed back towards those that seem to want to do such a thing in the first place. We regularly see here cries from poor Christians that they are being persecuted because they are not allowed to impose their values and their will on others.

As to:

This is dishonestly implying that those involved in a gay pride parade are having sex in public. It also seems to hint that they should go solo and masturbate!

On reflection, I find it hard to believe that this woman could have friends, let along gay ones. Generally in Europe people who are homophobic are frowned upon and are not encouraged to express their odd views in society. Nevertheless, there still are some troglodytes around, but very few compared to the US, as far as I can tell.

The rape argument is so totally false, it doesn't warrant a reply.

Only because they haven't told you. No should they have to do so.

There are about one million women currently alive in the US who have become pregnant as the result of rape. It happens thirty-two thousand per year; nearly a thousand times a day. It has happened more than once in the time it has taken me to write this comment.

Just as you don't know anyone who got pregnant from a rape, you may not even know anyone who has been raped. More likely, you know people who have become pregnant from rape but DIDN'T TELL YOU because you're such a judgemental a**hole.

But you want to give the government the power to force people to do the same? Really? You want to allow the government to force women to give birth because of your religious beliefs. Do you not see how tyrannical that is? What if my religious beliefs said that I should cut off my left arm, because God told me to? Should I vote for someone who will make it so the government can cut off people's arms at will?

How on Earth a Republican can claim to be in favor of "small government" and at the same time believes the government should force its representatives' religious beliefs on the rest of us is beyond me. If you lived in an Islamic nation, would you want the government to enforce Sharia on you? Or would you want a set of laws not dictated by religion, but instead created to best serve the interests of all, regardless of religion? I know you wouldn't want a secular government, because that would make you a Democrat.

Many devout "pro-life" Christians who claim they would never have an abortion end up having an abortion if they get pregnant. It's the whole "the only moral abortion is my abortion" point of view.

It doesn't matter if it's from consensual sex or rape. Nobody can honestly know how anyone actually feels in that situation, they can only guess. Anyone who says "well they should just have the baby" when someone is raped is lacking any and all sympathy. And, yeah, lets place DNA above an actual person. Smart, heartfelt, and rational move.

I'm going to guess from what this know-everything-ever has said, that she identifies as straight. And she wouldn't think her sexual orientation is all about sex. A lot of gay people want love, companionship, and sex. And most people identify as a lot of things. LGBT people have to speak up because otherwise nobody would give them the time of day. I never understood how buffoons like this can't even remotely comprehend that. They're the assholes who refuse to acknowledge equal rights of other human beings. And then complain that GLBT activists are like exhibitionist attention hogs.
