Because contrary to what society today will tell you, men and women are not equal. The man is to be the authority figure in and outside of church. I don't know that I have a problem with women saying amen to where only their husbands, for example, can hear it though.

I never understood the idea of someone being between you and God. Maybe it's because I was raised Baptist and not Catholic, but it seems that your relationship to God isn't about anyone's authority. It's you + God. How can anyone worship in your proxy or rightfully limit your power to worship?
Sorry, are you saying that we are crippled or what?, and why men, do they carry the kids or are better able of taking care of them?, why are they the authoritative figure, those guys who are unable to survive by themselves?

In other words, women are supposed to listen to the stories of Jesus and be involved in christianity over being busy in the household.

The scary thing is, this guy probably has a groveling, butt-kissing asswipe of a girlfriend who actually agrees and puts up with this attitude.
