The irony meter explodes here!!!. Darling, do you have any idea at all how science works?. They don't find THE answer(which will be dismissed as soon as there is new evidence if necessary)and then force people into it. This is not a democracy or a popularity contest. They do it after observing, analising and examining every single piece of disected material they have, not after a tupperware meeting like discussion.

Yes, we have defined it as an objective and verifiable observation or, as the NAS put it, "an observation that has been repeatedly confirmed and for all practical purposes can be accepted as true."
Hence a very old book that claimed something happened, or a personal testimony that something happened, or a repreated assertion that something happened, or a strong belief that something happened; these are not facts, no. Sorry.

It's not censorship. It's a process called culling, where the obvious nonsense is removed.
Most don't care discussing ideas and don't feel threatened by them. It's something else to convince them, of course. And not only scientists, many people will not allow you to corrupt public education with misleading antiscience arguments. As for science, it indeed attempts to study and discover as well as accumulate knowledge as it can. To contradict its observations, you'd have to provide better explanations for them, that do not conflict with the rest of knowledge, unless it also explains better those other areas and rests on overwhelming evidence. If you feel threatened by its discoveries, something may be wrong about conflicting views that you're holding.
