"isnt atheism just the easy way out?"
I didn't "choose" to be an atheist any more than I "chose" to accept gravity and the color of the sky. I am an atheist because people such as yourself have provided absolutely no evidence supporting the existence of your god(s). I could become a member of your belief system today if you showed me some evidence for its veracity.
"living a life believed to be inconsequential because there is no god seems a little too convenient no?"
What's your point here? There are some amoral dirtbags who are atheists, Christians, Muslims, etc. I know of no one who claims that all atheists are wonderful people. Your vacuous statement exposes the extreme intellectual limitations of your view.
"a thief will justify his stealing and deem it right, because stealing is more convenient for him.
just as any other criminal or good person will justify anything they do to fit them."
So you believe that atheism is a crime like theft? How is anyone else in a society harmed by another person's disbelief in deities?
"truth is that everyone strives towards living a more convenient life because who on earth would want to live a life where there is someone at the end of the road to tally what you do right and wrong?"
You are repeating your earlier statements. I know of no one who "chose" to be an atheist.
"... wouldnt it seem that the christian is the stronger person morally and spiritually and chooses the path less taken?"
Christians outnumber atheists both in this country and worldwide (by a large margin). Your ignorance of demographics is embarrassing.
"the path of being righteous without the notion that he could commit suicide anytime life would get too difficult?"
Now you're implying that suicide results from atheism. Do you have statistics to back this up? I'm an atheist and I have never remotely considered suicide. If anything I would suppose that disbelief in the afterlife would make one less likely to consider suicide (although like yourself, I have no statistics to back this).
"i understand the arguments how atheism is rational and christianity is not, but what about atheism being rational for the sake of convenience for the person whereas a christian, rational or not, chooses to pursue a path that is difficult to a majority of the world today
just wondering, let me know what you think."
What I think is that you haven't invested very much time into thinking about these things. I don't think you're a fundy or a nutcase, just uneducated.
