(on a suggestion that The Lord's Prayer should not be read at the opening of Parliament.)
HOW ironic that Senator Bob Brown wants to scrap the Lord's Prayer, for the reasons it should be kept. Its profundity and truthfulness transcends religion and belief. Atheists, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and agnostics can all equally delight in its universal relevance.

You have got to be fucking shitting me. Are you serious? I hope for the sake of humanity that this is a fucking Poe.
I get the feeling that either Mr. Bell has never actually paid attention to the words of the Lord's Prayer or he has never met any Atheists, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and agnostics.
HOW ironic that Senator (fill in the blank) wants to scrap the Shehadeh, for the reasons it should be kept. Its profundity and truthfulness transcends religion and belief. Atheists, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus and agnostics can all equally delight in its universal relevance.
Right, because Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, atheists, and agnostics totally believe in Our Father and heaven.
"Atheists, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and agnostics can all equally delight in its universal relevance."
You don't know anything about any of those things, do you?
What profundity and truthfulness? The Lord's Prayer basically says:
God, you're the MAN . Give us food. Don't punish us for doing bad stuff and we won't punish others for doing bad stuff to us. And BTW, keep us from doing bad stuff and don't let bad stuff happen to us. ['Cause you're the MAN ]* . Amen.

You know, I used to look at all the religious crazies in the US and think to myself "Sure is great we have none of that shit over here".
But then we have morons like this.
Now martin, you slow witted idiot, explain to me how the fuck the lord's prayer is relevant to those of us who do not believe in the existence of said lord...
If you get to do that, I get to stand in the center of the House, and recite "There Once Was a Man From Nantucket" at the top of my lungs.
What? It might offend someone...? Huh...take that thought and run with it a little bit.
Wow, what a fucking moron. Who knew a christian prayer had universal relevance for atheists and agnostics, not to mention Buddhists and Hindus. We should all just accept that it is "universal" and all pray it regardless.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
