There are a lot of Christians in the US. Up till now we have laid fairly low and kept quiet about a lot but like it or not we still make up a vast majority, at least in this country.

My wife recently re-installed our cable television and on any given day, our basic cable selection includes five different religious channels. Five. On BASIC cable. This means they are the standard on all packages.
The local stations play Shepard's Chapel and the 700 Club regularily. Shows such as 'Touched By an Angel', 'Highway To Heaven', Benny Hinn, Swaggart and the like are quite abundant. My town is in a heated '10 commandments on the courthouse lawn' debate, most of the holidays are christian based. You guys have 'lain low' like a spate of tornadoes in a trailer park.

True. The United States population has a Christian majority -- roughly 80% of Americans identify themselves as Christians.
However, most are content to lay low and practice their faith. We prefer to live out our faith by acting as good examples of how we believe should be, and not being obnoxious twits with persecution complexes.
question: how is this fundie?
this club keeps bashing religion and claims the ground of "rationality". But unless the facts asserted (that the majority of the US is Christian, and they have been fairly low key) are wrong there's little to bash in this quote. Regardless, there's no dogmatic assertion of faith, no fundie assertion at all.
a) If this is what they call "quiet..."
b) Like it or no, there are a few documents that protect the minority from the majority. So guess what. Suck it up, buttercup. You can whine, you can rail about the rampant immorality, but we are free to behave as we see fit.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
