"In my own life as a black youth growing up in the segregated South, I understand their frustration with stereotypes. Those in attendance, like most Muslim Americans, are peaceful Muslims and patriotic Americans whose good will is often drowned out by the reprehensible actions of jihadists."
Wow... Truth from a would be politician. That's a first.
So said presidential candidate Herman Cain, as he apologized for speaking the truth.
While you are entitled to your own opinions Ms Geller, your are not entitled to your own truths.
He spoke out against Shariah.
Which is about as much of a threat to the US as the intergalactic overlord Xenu. I don't see musllim state or federal lawmakers trying to impose their religion on the population by force of law, unfortunetly I can't say the same about many fundamentalist christian lawmakers.
He said that local people could and should resist the construction of Islamic supremacist mega-mosques.
First, What "mega mosques"? Second, If locals where "resisting" the construction of a christian mega church there would be outrage and rightly so, because the 1st ammendment gurantees people the freedom to worship the religion of their choice. But it does not give you, the government, or anyone else the right to veto or override that freedom just because you do not like their religion, or because it is not your own.
The Freedom of Religion guranteed by the constitution is, was intended to, and must remain absolute if it is to have any meaning.
And it's true: It is not an infringement of the freedom of religion to resist a Muslim Brotherhood beachhead in your neighborhood.
Yes, it is. To say to a group of people of any religion "You can't build your church here because we don't like your religious beliefs" is a direct and unambiguous infringement of their first ammendment rights. What you and WND are doing is selling and disseminating ideas that are every bit as unamerican as the ideas you claim to be fighting.
So we thought Cain knew and understood the jihad threat. But now it turns out that his seemingly strong stance was just knee-jerk political opportunism.
Of course it was political opportunism, it was an attempt to get the backing of religious whackjobs lie yourself, who see every muslim as an jihadist infiltrator and every mosque as part of covert invasion.
What Cain doesn't understand is that his lack of spine and political will and conviction has done more to hurt the counter-jihad movement than had he not said anything at all.
There is no "counter-jihad movement" outside of your deranged little clique of sycophants.
Muslims face no discrimination in the United States
Tell that to the hundreds of innocent muslims who were rounded up by the FBI after 911, or all the muslims whose places of worship are routinely vandalized and threatened by people like you.
Who exactly is whispering in his ear? I'd love to know. Who got to him?
HAHAHAAHA! Of course, that had to be it. Someone "got to him". He coudn't have possibly realized that playing to the far right kooks of the party was doing him more harm than good, he couldn't have possibly realized that the hatred and divisivness advocate by Pamela Geller and WND is a cancer in our society. no, someone ad to "get to him" because all muslim are secret jihadists and non of them could be patriots, including the hundreds who have fought and died for Ms Geller and WND's right to advocate they be treated as a suspect class. There is nothing patriotic about you people and your seemingly obsessive need to hate something. Sure hating muslims is in vouge for your type now, but in another time it would have been jews, blacks, italians, irish, or what have you. You can't make your claims of opression seem valid unless find a group of people to pin your imaginary opression on.
Obviously, the ADAMS Center connection shows that the Muslim Brotherhood got to him. But it's a good thing we found out how weak he was.
Please. The Muslim Brotherhood is as much a threat to the US as the Muppets or Bambi. Further more, had you bothered to do any research whatsoever you would know that the Muslim Brotherhood is a recogized eqyption political party that swore off violance as a tactic decades ago. Muslim americans make up roughly 2% of the population and little if any influence on US culture and virtually none on US law. In fact there have only ever been two muslims in congress (neither of whom have pushed any kind of islamic agenda), none in the senate, and none as president or Vice President, your scurilous accusation and proveably false assertion of Obama's religious beliefs aside.
In issuing this apology, he thought he saved his candidacy; in fact, he killed it.
Although Herman Cain never had a real shot at the nomination in the first place. That aside, I highly doubt that a denunciation from Pamela Geller or WND has anymore than a miniscule effect, if any, on someones campaign chances.
