[On why God gives children cancer]
It is always when we feel helpless and distressed that we remember God. Too often that is the only time we remember Him. If we had our way, we’d erase all pain from this world and thereby take away one of God’s most effective means of securing our attention. Then we’d all become completely self-absorbed and totally ignore His existence. Does God smile on this plan? Not hardly. Our Creator loves us too much to let us walk away from Him without a fight. He will do anything it takes to intensify our interest in Him

If I was god, I wouldn't care that my creations weren't interested in worshiping me, as long as they were happy. You know that one of the qualifications of love is sacrifice, right? That if it comes down to it, you would give up your own happiness to see the people that you love content. And this isn't even sacrifice, this is just not being a cloying moron!
And why is reciprocating the love of god better than being happy? It doesn't seem to be any intrinsic benefit to worship that is better than being content!
But you said that God was glorified by sending people, who are inherently wicked, to Hell. So those children aren't really human but just ciphers to help us remember God? Wouldn't, say, a big building with a pointy bit on every other street do as well?
Anna, you're making Satan sound more and more attractive. This may as well be a cgi movie where Satan is the handsome leader of the freedom fighters (voiced, of course, by Tim Curry) who is out to save humanity from the tyrant that is Yahweh.
This woman is refreshingly honest, if rather disturbing. She takes one good look at the Problem of Evil, concludes that Yahweh is malevolent, then worships him anyway.
All-powerful being gives children cancer so we will think about him, instead of just, you know, showing up and reminding us he's there. Because he loves us. Got it.
Man, I hate this comic book theology.
...So WHY exactly should we worship a selfish, egomaniacal psychopatic monster that hurts innocent children just so we would grovel at its dirty feet? Who is pretty much the definition of "drunk on power"?
Shouldn't it rather try to earn that respect?
Seriously, WHY IS SATAN THE BAD GUY HERE!?

Oh, man. I thought sure it was gonna be something about our sinful nature and how the kids deserve it.
"Oh, look at me, I'm God. It's not enough that I'm asking you to worship me. I have to make a game out of it because I need attention!" -God, according to Anna
Confused?
