There is no such thing as "Progressive" Christianity. That the author of the screed immediately sets out to prove that while whining about being called on the fact is quite entertaining.

These people have this bizarre, totally self-serving idea that as long as they are publicly nice to people and spend some money on some approved cause they can use the title Christian and it makes them feel better. What they need to do is either become Christian, or label themselves "nice people" and shut up about it. Stop compromising the Faith of those who actually believe in something.

Just the very fact that you claim that your brand of so-called 'Christainity' is the 'superior' one (and the only one; remember, there's tens of thousands of denominations of Christianity, each claiming to have the 'Truth', and everyone else's is wrong), then question II: Why isn't your country at least the Eternal Talibangelist Theocracy of Godsville?

...but then, the night of Nov. 6th 2012 sealed the deal on that little agenda of yours: you & all your fundie Christain Dominionist ilk. And for generations to come. The new voting generation of 'Conservative'-born Americans have ultimately found their parents' - and thus your - way of thinking to be wanting. And they no longer want it. Proof's there, you don't have the right to deny it. Thus 'InThatRiverInEgypt4Life'.

But because there are Red Letter Christians - such as Pastor Tom Tate in Oregon - who follow what Jesus said, and to the letter, rather than, say, Paul which suits their own way of thinking & bigotries far better, and there's far more of the former than the previous Religious Reich types that used to have so much political power, which has gone nowadays, that irks the likes of Butthurt4Life, seeing their precious 'Turn or Burn'-based influence on others not exactly like them equally evaporating too: it's all about CONTROL with the likes of her.

And she's become impotent. No more religious control for her & her ilk. More & more Christians (remember: the tens of thousands of denominations who each claim to have the 'Truth', and would equally say she's going to Hell) who don't think like her. And that's what irks her, otherwise, 'progressivism was a philosophy developed specifically to destroy (right-wing Fundamentalist) Christainity' is a bad thing... how?

She's still yet to explain that to us. Or would she - in the process of doing so - realise why FSTDT & progressivism exists?
