Donald Trump, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffet could all give millions to charities, but if they didn't do it because of their faith in Jesus, it's just sin. My down and dirty explanation: anytime someone operates independently of God, all they do is sin to God.

So
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which is the largest transparently operated charitable foundation in the world.
is all an illusion apparently
Yea, thems damn rich peoples, how dare theys give billions to help thems others! Really, how hells-bound can thems all be?
So wait, wait, hold the phone...
Apparently morality is a Christian thing, people can not be moral unless they are Christian.
So when someone does something moral and decent, because it is not in the name of Jesus, it magically does not count as morality?
Fundie logic in its purest state.
...
Damn, that's depressing.
Let's see if I got this right. By your own words and logic: Your God is omnipresent. Your God is all powerful (omnipotent). How on Earth can someone operate independently of that being? And, what about free will? With ultimate power comes ultimate responsibility.
Now, look at the other choice. There is no God. Does the world you live in make much more sense?
And this is written where?
I guess helping those orphans/downtrodden/poor people is just sinful now, isn't it? Let's just spend that ''charity'' money that gets some random priest a custom made Harley Davidson, so he can preach jeebus on dem' road.
Well, I asume those people who benefit from the millions given by those 3 people won´t care if the money was given because of their faith in Jesus or for other reasons ;)
I think that a person who behaves in a socially acceptable manner and gives a lot of money to charities but doesn´t believe in Christ, is of more worth to the world than a christian who doesn´t give anything to charities (although he could) and maybe even doesn´t behave socially acceptable (think of Phelps and his WBC for example)
;)
"Donald Trump, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffet could all give millions to charities, but if they didn't do it because of their faith in Jesus, it's just sin"
Don't know about Donald Trump, but Warren Buffet already IS giving millions to charities. And Bill Gates is using most of his billions to fund his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. And he's an Atheist.
Remember Jim Bakker? His PTL Club? What about all those millions in 'pledges' that he & Tammy Faye squandered to fund their lavish lifestyle? Didn't see them helping the Third World. They have criminal records. They're Christians.
And that's the difference. Now who are the sinners?
My down and dirty explanation:
My down and dirty explanation: Each time you open your mouth, you insult humanity!
Here's the down and dirty truth: You, your god, his writers, and the man-made concept of "sin" can kiss my ass until your lips rot off.
"Sin" is bullshit used for mind control!
Boy, your god has a lot of emotional problems. If I was god, and I would make a far better god, I would be very pleased that the incredibly rich share their wealth with the less fortunate.
Also, I would put a bit more effort in making myself believable.
Wait. So, if I do something nice, it's still a sin, because I'm not Christian? Just how far into your ass did you have to reach to pull that one out?
If you'd, you know, actually read your Bible, you'd know better.
See, there was this time when the apostles caught someone casting demons out of someone, but wasn't a follower of Jesus. What did Jesus say, you ask?
Well, he said, "Don't stop him, because who ever is not against you is for you." (Luke 9:50).
So if I were to leap out into traffic and save someone from being fatally hit by a car, I would by my action have sinned against God because I don't believe in Jesus?
Better to do nothing then. Screw the rest of you.
My down and dirty explanation (in my best Bill Shatner voice): Excuse me, but why does God need money?
And remember Matthew 19:24? '"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.'
In that case, Bill Gates could afford to have a needle built scaled up, so that a camel COULD pass through it's eye. And therefore Bill Gates would OWN Heaven. And he would become God. So much for the Bible - not exactly written with the future in mind, eh?!
Actually, that was Martin Luther's "down and dirty explanation." It runs contrary to what Jesus himself is recorded as saying. In the parable of the sheep and the goats from Matthew, Jesus tells a group of people who did not even know him that, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me (NIV)."
But, hey, what did Jesus know about being a Christian?
Trump wants to take, not give, indeed. He also hopes that you do crimes and jail time for him. Just like in other mafias.
anytime someone operates independently of God, all they do is sin to God
"Independent thought and action is sin." Well, not new. Even if it's bullshit to manipulate, because there is no God, only conflicted humans claiming to represent "Him", including criminals.
Confused?
