God alone has morality and is the source of all morality? We are to emmulate God and his morality?
Tell that to Abraham who lied and said his wife was his sister because God told him to lie. He only lied because he feared Pharoah would murder him for his "beautiful" yet aged/ancient wife in order to take her from him. But because Abraham lied the Pharoah went to lay down with his wife thinking she was only a sister and not a bride and yet God punished and afflicted him when he did this even though it was Abraham's fault Pharoah went to sleep with her because he lied.
So apparently God lies and allows lying. And yet one of his commandments in the OT is "Thou shalt not bear false witness" which is akin to saying "do not lie to people or mislead people with false statements". And that is exactly what Abraham did.... at the command of God himself.
Going even further the Bible states one of God's commandments is "Thou shalt not kill."
And yet God was killing millions of people on the earth with the Flood.
He killed some children for teasing a bald man that was his prophet by sending bears in to maul them to death.
He killed anyone who touched the Ark of the Covenant (even if by accident in one persons case).
And he has killed countless numbers of people such as the Pharoah's guards trying to cross the Red Sea who chased moses by drowning them.
Also there was the destruction of all the people in Sodom and Gomorrah by a rainy fire of death.
He even murdered lot's wife by turning her into a pillar of salt for simply looking back on the city and gazing upon it's destruction.
As you can see the Biblical God has NO morals and is hardly in any position to be considered a progenitor of morals let alone to have a moral compass and command other people to follow him by displaying these same "morals".
So please... STFU. I have more morals in my little pinky simply by being an Agnostic and logical thinking person who respects others as I respect myself and by obeying the golden rule.
I don't need a god, gods, or a holy book either to teach me this or tell me what is right or wrong. I simply behave and don't harm others because: It's the right thing to do and I would want other people to treat me the same way.
"Do to others as you would have them do to you."
"Obey the golden rule."
"And it harm none, do what you will."
"What you send out comes back to you three fold."
"Live and let live."
These are all sentiments I did not recieve from the Holy Bible or God. They came to me taught by the laws of soceity and from good upbringing from my mother as well as my life experiences with other people, whether cruel or kind, over time which taught me what was right and what wasn't.
I don't need your God or your religion to tell me what is right and good. I can figure this out on my own through my human experiences, my life lessons, and from finding my way along my own path over the years.
And bugger all if you dimwitted narcissistic and delusional Christians cannot seem to get that into your thick skulls, understand it, or accept it, because to you it's impossible and incorrect.
Go screw yourselves. You stick to your "God" and I will stick to my own life lessons of how to treat others based on how I would and would not like to be treated. It has served me just fine so far to do so.
