FSM is one of the most flawed propositions circuclating, probably first and foremost beacause the author, in his apparent desire to make some money off his idea, (in December 2005, Bobby Henderson received a reported USD $80,000 advance from Villard to pen The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster) admitted it was a spoof.

I cannot think of one sincere Christian person who claims that God is real and then at the same time says "Oh, BTW, my belief is a spoof."

Look, up there in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's the point flying way over your head!
EDIT: Gah. LordJiro beat me to it. Though with less Superman reference.

Yeah... you really don't get it do you?
Or, in the words of Comic Book Guy:
Since we are unfamiliar with sarcasm, I'm going to close the register at this point.
Wait,
you say that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is not real
and that the Bobby Henderson said it was all made up?
Damned, all my beliefs shattered. *cry*
:D
How does it being "made up" or a "spoof" make it any less valid as a religion?
If receiving money for extolling a religion you've just invented is proof of its flawed nature, every Abrahamic religion jumped the shark when Moses said "God wants 10% of everything you own, payable to my brother Aaron there."
It's a JOKE, fundie, a damn joke. Y'know, a bit like the hilarious one your god supposedly played on Job. Oh wait, the FSM isn't giving innocent people leprosy and killing their children, is he? Sheesh, get over yourself.

And religion has never made money for those propagating it, right? The Catholic Church is a great example of how poor peddling religion can make you. Or the megachurches run by televangelists. Poor bastards can probably barely make the payment on their mansions.

You moron. Henderson doesn't believe the FSM is real. God damn you're an idiot.
Here's the point: .
Here's you.
Bobby Henderson is just a tool of the FSM. Much as a pen does not understand the words the it scribes as the author writes, His noodliness flows His words through His writing instrument on earth, Bobby. It benefits Him that his scribe attributes his work to satire, Much in the way Jesus claimed he used parables so the unworthy would not receive the message (Mark 4:11-12) and be saved, so The FSM has Bobby claim "Satire!" so the unworthy will discount his message. The True Pastafarien sees through this as they are already touched, chosen and guided by his appendage.
So you think we really worship the FSM? I guess when I go to the Spagetti Factory tonight, I should stand up and yell "CAN I GET A RAMEN?"
BTW he 'admitted' it was a spoof long before he got the $80K
See that flying over your head? That's the fucking point which you obviously completely missed.
The entire point of the FSM is to make fun of creationist arguments and tactics. It was NEVER intended to be anything but satire.
Why do all you people appear to completely lack any concept of humour?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
