So there I was, sitting in Applebee's having a nice lunch (a cup of french onion soup their signature club sandwich) and lo and behold on the tv facing me 10 feet away I have to put up with being indoctrinated on the evils of homophobia by ESPN.
For those of you that haven't heard, Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Yunel Escobar had the audacity to write some miniscule word in Spanish on his eye black during a recent game that the gay gestapo deemed "homophobic". Even though Escobar apologized and lowered his moral standards into the gutter by stating that he's not homophobic and has fag friends, the tolerant child molesters at GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) would have nothing to do with it, and Escobar was suspended for 3 games and forced to pay the $92,000 lost in wages to GLAAD and "You Can Play", a group of proud/unrepentant homosexual athletes (all 12 of them).http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/83 ...slur-eye-blackhttp://www.cbsnews.com/8301-400_162- ...-on-eye-black/http://youcanplayproject.org/
What was so disgusting about the ESPN coverage is that some lisper from GLAAD sat there talking with a panel from ESPN about the evil of homophobia for a half hour (hence ruining my nice lunch) and NONE of the former athletes not once dared say a word denouncing the immoral, promiscuous, disease ridden 'deathstyle'.
Undoubtedly they wanted to keep their jobs.

I'm betting that Culture Warrior here has probably met far more gay people than he realizes. Heck, he probably knows more gay people than he realizes.
Meanwhile, here in the cause and effect universe inhabited by sane people, he was punished by the league because the message on his "eye black" was deemed a taunt directed at other players. That's against the rules no matter what specific words are used. He would have been punished just the same if the message was "you suck" instead of "you're a faggot".
BTW. It's really kinda stupid to blame a network for truthfully, unlike FAUX"News", reporting on a story that makes you uncomfortable.
Christianity has ruled the roost for centuries, if not millennia. Times change. Technologies change. Attitudes must change. Otherwise, you'd still be living in a hut, with no TV (to watch ESPN), computer/internet etc.

It began with "tu ere". The correct conjugation is "tu eres" (Spanish for "you are", using the informal version of "you" and the permanent version of "are"). Even Google Translate doesn't know what "tu ere" means.
