[L]eading scientists have found evidence discrediting evolution. Tiny organisms have been discovered in our bodies that were not previously known about. They now have microscopes powerful enough that can see little biological organisms that have tiny gears and little rudders! Their like mini machines in our bodies, and there existence disproves entirely the theory of evolution. It just hasn’t gotten out to the schools yet—Just think, kids in schools are being taught a theory that has already been disproved!

Especially calling Behe a leading scientist! ROFL!!!
It's worse than that. She apparently got her information from one Pastor Rob Simmons, "a hard core, anti-evolutionist", with "pictures and fossels and everything". A "very commen sense kind of man."
UPDATE:
This new organism is being called Knowasarkaphites (noh-az-arc-ah-fites) by the top-notch-a-number-one-bestest-scientist, The Reverend Doctor Behe or Brahe or something. So, anyway, they got like, little animals pointing their heads out the tiny window, and like it even says, 'The Ark' on the sides of them. I mean, Oh mah Gawd! How cool is that? I mean, if it wasn't biblically based, I probably would like, NEVER believe that, but there it is! God is the coolest!
I'd really like to get my hands on that "Leading Scientist" guy, he sure sounds like he shoots his mouth off a lot.
I don't suppose there was a reference, or image of these organisms with gears and rudders provided?
For a moment I thought she was talking about mitochondria, but that seems to logical. I don't suppose there was an explanation as to how the rudder/gear organisms couldn't have evolved was there?
Algore Lib Nutcase: Perhaps you could provide something substantive to argue against, then? Because Lucy sure doesn't. What this quote offers is (firstly) the false claim that our bodies contain little organisms with actual gears and rudders. Unless someone (you?) can provide a credible source for this earthshattering claim it deserves to be dismissed out of hand.
Secondly, mere discovery of such machines does not disprove evolution even a little, let alone entirely. Kind of like evolution does not disprove the existence of some godly entity. It would make for a thrilling topic of study though. Just imagine what we could learn!
Nutjob: Behe and Hovind would be considered "scientists" if they adhered to the "scientific method." As they adhere only to "their own imagination" (not even the Bible) they cannot be considered scientists.
If they want to get with the program and conduct real scientific studies, and can actually offer scientifically gathered evidence of creation, more power to them. Would actually make this debate a DEBATE. As it is, it's just a theological dead end for you.
"They now have microscopes powerful enough that can see little biological organisms that have tiny gears and little rudders!"
*sniff* *snifffffffff*
Do I smell troll?
Also: if I've got little nanomachines all over my bloodstream, why haven't they erased my surgery scars, deleted all my excess fat, and repaired that tooth I chipped in the wreck 11 years ago? That's what nanomachines do: fix you up good as new! Maybe mine are defective.... I want my money back!
Sandman? they are?? uh oh,,
I'm in trouble then,.
Is that rectal probe Algore Lib Nutcase, still here?
Lucy, Your ignorance astounds me, It is mind boggling
Just think, kids in schools are being taught a theory that has already been disproved!
The judge in Kitzmiller v Dover School Board didn't think so, and he heard Michael Behe's testimony regarding the "little gears and rudders" (flagella).
Especially calling Behe a leading scientist! ROFL!!!
See, like that. That way you don't have to do any actual thinking, and you can avoid having your little Atheist "evolution is real!" bubble burst.
If Al were following his own advice, he'd have provided an intelligent counterargument. Does he have some evidence that Michael Behe is a "leading scientist"? He's a biochemistry professor at Lehigh. I have no doubt he's a competent scientist, and maybe even a respected scientist. But I'd be surprised if he's on the Nobel short list.
That being said, I woudn't put him in the same category with Hovind. At least Behe agrees that the earth is billions of years old. He also says "I have no quarrel with the idea of common descent, and continue to think it explains similarities among species". He accepts that humans and apes share a common ancestor. His views appear consistent with "theistic evolution". He's a Roman Catholic, and appears not to disagree with the Catholic Church's stated position. I suspect YECs, and probably Al, would have as much of an argument with Behe as they would with Darwin.
Uh... I'm pretty sure we don't have nanotech that advanced yet.
I mean, in another 20 years, sure, but not yet.

Mine don't work either! We should sue!
Aw trolly didn't read the links. No wonder he's an idiot! Furthermore he doesn't even know what Behe's theories are, let alone that they did a cut and paste for Creator/Designer when Creationism was proven to be unconstitutional and UNSCIENTIFIC!
Behe does have a post. He is possibly even quite adept when reciting other people's proven ideas. His rot however was a baseless conspiracy theoery, not science and the fact he's continuing to promote it as such after being disproven makes it "at best disingenuous, at worst a canard."
"Creationism/ID" is not a science. Behe is not a leading scientist. Give it up fuckwit, you don't have the faintest idea of anything you're talking about, stop grasping at straws - including your metaphysical imaginary friend and childish dictionary definitions instead of reality!

If leading scientists HAD discovered evidence discrediting evolution, it would be in all the science journals, all the newspapers, all over the media and the internet. They would be nominated for the Nobel and famous worldwide. Not mentioned on a fundie board that states that girls should make room for guys to be leaders. (If guys really are leaders, they should demonstrate it on a level playing field, not ask women to give them a break!)
... by the same token, few if any of the proponents of Evolution Theory are on the Nobel short list.
Sure about that, Al? I don't have the short list handy, but here are 33 "evolution" scientists who actually won the Nobel: Kansas School Board Petition
... even someone of your particular intellectual status would admit that Behe is one of the leaders of what might be termed the "Creation Theory" movement or idea.
Biochemist Dr. Raymond Bernard was a leader of the hollow earth theory movement, too. Does that make him a "leading scientist"? Let's face it, if Lucy had meant "Leading creation scientists have found evidence discrediting evolution", it would have pretty much robbed her announcement of its imagined impact. We might still have enjoyed a good ROTFL, but more from the irony.

Uh-uh. I think you're forgetting about the Vast Evolutionist Conspiracy. Remember? It's right up there with the Gay Agenda and those feminazi commies who want to stick all the men in death camps.
Nanomachines?
Metal Gear!?
You do have tiny organisms inside your body, but they are not machines. Bacteria are everywhere. Most are neither good nor bad. Some need you for their survival, and you need some for your survival, mostly in the digestive tract. They help to break down and digest food. It starts in the mouth- ask your dentist. Bacteria in your gut break it down even further. The number of bacteria in you is greater than the population of the world. Chew on that.

Metal Gear?
Surely this is a troll??
Please???
No, kids in school are not taught a theory that has already been disproved. After the Kitzmiller vs Dover, it was judged unconstitutional to teach kids Creationism in schools.
You can safely send your kids to school now. :-)
Behe should be shunned by the scientific community. His Irriducable Complexity theory is built on this one example of a motor system (tail) of one bacteria with seven or more parts.
He claimed they all needed to be present at the same time and wouldn't work till they did, a lie, it's been pointed out to him for years that several other bacteria have simpler versions of the same system. He is like Hovind in that respect, despite his "theory" being disproven he still uses it to this day, ignoring the bacteria that are similar with only two to four of these parts.
He's the guy who tried to redefine science as "anything someone believes in" so religious claims would have to be accepted without evidence. This proves he gave up practicing real science years ago.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
