If someone somehow managed to convince liberals that guns are good because they will used to kill conservatives liberals would become the most stalwart defenders of the 2nd A after anyone in this site.

I wouldn't want to kill conservatives. I'm just content with laughing at the crazier ones. Admittedly, I couldn't possibly handle a gun without being scared.

If the conservatives you're talking about are these roving groups of chickenshit assault rifle carriers showing up at resturants enforce then you might have a point.
We're certainly not seeing any "good guys with guns" in them groups.

And like all those who identify as liberal oppose the Second Amendment. Supporting the "right to bear arms" does not involve murderous blood lust. Or it really shouldn't, anyway. I wish that didn't need to be said.
Liberal does not equal anti-gun. I am a liberal and a gun owner, I am also a member of the Liberal Gun Club where other liberals also own guns. The difference is, we support responsible ownership instead of everyone owning an entire arsenal regardless of their background or mental health.
Which is why I keep my trusty Garand and a box of .30-06 in the bedroom closet (with a trigger lock and the key on my pocket keychain).
Seriously though, I think folks in Santa Barbara may have other reasons for favoring strong gun control.
But, of course, we know that will never happen because everyone knows that liberals are all granola-munching sissies who are afraid of guns and let their lawyers do their fighting for them.

Actually, many liberals are ok with guns (my brother uses them to hunt critters/food in his ultra-rural locale, for example). What you idiots don't understand is that we "liberals" just think they need some sort of common-sense regulation (kinda like cars) and we don't believe in passing out high-powered rifles to the mentally disabled and/or felons.
I apologise for my previous, ill worded comment, I didn't mean to speak on the behalf of all liberals. I posted the statement too hastily, without much thought.

Really? You're the ones harming gun owners with your insane rhetoric and death threats. The liberals that are extremely against any guns are probably only like that because you fundie nutjobs make every gun owner look like a raving lunatic determined to commit mass murder. If you are really on the side of reasonable gun ownership, you'd stop spewing your misleading trite.
There are about 31,000 gun deaths in the US every year (approx. 20,000 suicide, 8,000 homicide and 3,000 accidental). I'm willing to bet that the overwhelming majority of those dying are conservatives because they have most of the guns.
So, see, it's working!
All the 2nd amendment says is people can have guns. It doesn't say they can have guns anonymously, that they can have any weapon they like, including bazookas and RPGs, that they can sell them to known criminals or the mentally deranged or they can't be required to have insurance for their misuse.
Funny, an awful lot of my friends (including my partner) are gun-owning left-wingers.

I can't speak for every liberal but by-in-large I'd say we're not insane people who want to KILL everyone who disagrees with them.
That's why we're generally the ones who don't really like guns. You follow?
And then there are responsible gun-owning liberals who are in favor of sensible laws that cause you to cry that the sky is falling every time they're proposed. Things like maybe keeping weapons out of the hands of the mentally ill?
