In a radio interview Friday, Trump declared war on those who would make war on Christmas, saying he went out of his way to use the name of the holiday instead of saying “Season’s Greetings.”
“I go out of my way to use the word ‘Christmas,’” Trump told Yellowhammer Radio host Cliff Sims.
“There’s an assault on anything having to do with Christianity,” he continued.
“They don’t want to use the word Christmas anymore at department stores — There’s always lawsuits and unfortunately a lot of those lawsuits are won by the other side.” (H/T Mediaite)
The comments fit with Trump’s recent push against anti-Christian sentiment in America.
“The Christians are being treated horribly because we have nobody to represent the Christians,” Trump said in a recent interview. “Believe me, if I run and I win, I will be the greatest representative of the Christians they’ve had in a long time.”

"The Christians are being treated horribly because we have nobody to represent the Christians."
Uh-huh. The US is now about 70% Christian, 20% religiously unaffiliated, and 10% everything else. Its congress is about 89% Christian, 1% unaffiliated, and 10% everything else. There has never been a president who was anything other than Christian. Christians are overrepresented in government, as proven by the way conservatives in state legislatures freak out when a non-Christian prayer is held there.
“The Christians are being treated horribly because we have nobody to represent the Christians,”
(Miles Gloriosus doubles over in laughter until he can't breathe anymore.)
This guy can't be serious. If anything, Christians are overrepresented in government.
Nobody to represent the Christians except for the people who do. You have Cruz, Palin, Bachmann, Huckabee, etc.
Unless you mean people who actually are trying to emulate Christ but that would mean you'd be very different
Most of the politicians just boast about their oh so Christian values to pander to their voting base. I’d think they must hate it how Trump now makes that so obvious to everyone, it may ruin their whole scam.

Name just one.
“The Christians are being treated horribly because we have nobody to represent the Christians,”
For the umptieth time: Being finally told that you have to follow the same rules as everyone else is not “being treated horribly”!
In my day the war on Christmas hysteria didn't start until December, nowadays you're lucky to make it past August without having it mentioned in the right wing press. Why can't it go back to the good old days when the conservative Christmas lunacy could be limited to a few weeks? [/nostalgia]
You are championing causes linked to the most paranoid, right wing Christian purely because they represent a large chunk of your voter base, so you have to pander to them at every opportunity. The views you express do not represent the ones you truly hold, it's your hunger for power speaking. FRAUD!
"I go out of my way to use the word 'Christmas'".
Yeah, con fucking gratulations, want a cookie, Trump?

Jeremiah 10:2-4:
"Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky,
though the nations are terrified by them.
For the customs of the people are worthless;
they cut a tree out of the forest, and a
craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
They adorn it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails so
it will not totter."
The Puritans were so named becuase of their
attempts to "purify" the Christian church by
adopting more basic forms of worship. And
among their chief targets was anything that
could be tied to the practices of the
Roman Catholic Church -- and, by extension
the Anglican, or Church of England.
Including the celebration of Christmas.
Driven by Puritan notions of religious purity,
in 1647 Parliament banned the celebration of Christmas.
Gone were such pagan ideas as Christmas Trees,
feasting, caroling, and decorations
(and, indeed, they were borrowed from Pagan winter celebrations) .
Nativity scenes were banned as the worship of idols.
Indeed, even the word Christmas was frowned upon as
taking the Lord's name in vain.
There's only one front in the "War On Christmas" I stand on: The front that refuses to let Christmas eat Halloween like it did Thanksgiving.
And on the "Merry Christmas" bit... If I "Merry Christmas" at you and you "Happy Holidays" at me, I smile and go on shopping (or whatever I happen to be doing). Same goes for Kwanzaa, Chanukah, Yule, Winter Solstice, Festivus, Annual Flying Gift Man day...
Trump speaks from deep within his ass part 9001.
“The Christians are being treated horribly because we have nobody to represent the Christians"
What? No, seriously, what do you think you are trying to say here?
Everyone's seen them, and I don't have links, so just pretend that the "Persecuted, Persecuted, Not Persecuted" and "Help! Help! We're being oppressed!" pictures are here.
Look who's pandering to the reactionary base of the Republican Party!
Please, show me one, just one lawsuit over a store employee saying "Merry Christmas" to someone.
Confused?
