What is being taught at most schools today, out of fear from being labelled as non-inclusive:
1. Everybodies view on truth is okay and just as relevant as the next persons
2. We evolved from primeval slime and can ignore the possibility of a higher power
3. Each nation/organisation can have it's own view on right or wrong. And it is okay to have different views
And then after another school mass shooting they wonder what went wrong.
There is only one set of rules that is consistant and sensible. This is provided in the New Testiment. Follow Gods rules and the world starts to make sense and run smoothly.

Let's try some of the same backwards logic. The school shooters' view on truth is more relevant than any other view, because he's got a gun.
Sounds awfully familiar...
1. Yeah, they're teaching that religion is just as good an explanation for life as science!!
2. God is in control and we're powerless to stop pollution as its clearly His will.
3. Like believing that wearing fabrics of two different materials is a sin.
Somehow I doubt the school shootings have anything to do with the touchy-feelyness of the academic material. It's the harshness of adolescent society itself that causes children to snap.
1. No. They are taught to value "truth" when it's backed by facts. Not wishful thinking.
2. Sadly untrue. Individual teachers, and districts, are rather spotty in living up to their constitutional mandate to leave religion out of the public schools.
3. Freedom for fundies! Everyone else? Go fuck yourself!
QUIZ:
Q. What's the one thing that every "mass shooter", in schools or otherwise, has in common?
A. They were ostracized from society, often by "good Christians".
Conclusion: Adding a divisive influence, like religion, to public schools would increase the number of outcasts.
More outcasts=more potential shooters.
1. Everybody has a different perception of 'truth'. Facts have more value.
2. If you can prove the higher power..with something more tangible that 'faith'.
3. As with 'truth', everyone has a different perception of 'right and wrong'.
4. The shootings were done by misfits or alienated students.
5. You've proven the rule that even England can produce loonies.
If everybody accepted that everybody's OK and it's OK to have different views, there wouldn't be school shootings. Also, evolution only teaches we evolved from slime. It doesn't say anything one way or the other about a higher power - that issue isn't addressed in biology class.
Yes, let's follow the New Testament. Give to anyone who asks; lend without thought of payback; don't wear gold or pearls if you're a woman; don't remarry after divorce, regardless of who was at fault; don't seek freedom if you're a slave.
"Each nation/organisation can have it's own view on right or wrong. And it is okay to have different views"
Right, because the American/Republican worldview is the only one that should be acceptable, right?
How do you suggest we amend that?
1. Only one person's view on truth is acceptable. That person will be determined by lottery. If it just happens to be one Brian McDonald of Fairbanks, CA, then I guess homosexuality and Scientology are our new infallible truths.
2. Evolution cannot be taught, and we must spend hours speculating about a higher power that cannot in anyway contradict the TRUTH that is Xenu.
3. No one can have a view of right or wrong that deviates from the teachings of Brian McDonald. It is unacceptable to think for yourselves or disagree.
Obviously, this will prevent school shootings. No question.
1. Everybodies view on truth is okay and just as relevant as the next persons
I've never seen such a ridiculous "viewpoint" taught in any school I've ever attended. And I fail to see what any of this has to do with school shootings.
1. They are not being taught that any version of truth is okay. If so ID would be taught.
2. Find me one evolutionist who says we evolved from "slime". And for the record there are theistic evolutionists.
3. Different views!? Gasp!
4. The rate of public school violence has actually been in steady decline for the last decade or two.
You fail.
1. Everybodies view on truth is okay and just as relevant as the next persons
Not that I think this is true, but I would disagree with it. And I can't see what he's complaining about. If it were NOT true, fundie here would have a harder time of it.

That's a bit random.
Consistent and sensible, eh? The New Jestament?
To paraphrase T Jefferson, it's been the greater part of two millennia, and there's still no uniformity. Why are there thousands of splinter sects instead of one great family? Seems to me that a righteous -theism would not push people to get so fucking tribal, one against another. But here we have a central character who is patently a chaos creature.
It betrays itself as inconsistent nonsense; file it under "Dangerous Futility".

Fortunately for Bro. Randy. =3
Right and wrong are subjective. Also, we have these little things called "grey areas" now. They complicate issues like you wouldn't believe.
I don't see any problem with 1 and 3, in fact, they're the reason there aren't *more* school shootings than we already have. Most of the shooters were either unmedicated, or Christian... some of them were unmedicated Christians.
NOTE: Columbine, I know, someone's going to point out that they killed Christians. Ever think it's because the Christians were being insufferable twats?
1- No thinking different from me is allowed
2- No believing anything different from me, even when it is a misunderstanding of the truth. You aren't allowed to think that my god can't possibly exist
3- Its not okay to think differently from me
Thats how they want things.
Also school shootings have nothing to do with the above, all shooters were mentally unstable and/or suicidal
"... You can still be fat and saved."
You might have some trouble passing through that old proverbial eye of the needle, however.
Edit: cui bono beat me to it. Great minds snark alike!
You can still be fat and saved.
Bro. Randy will be happy to learn that.
EDIT: dang, beaten to it by DarkfireTaimatsu!
Yeah, about those rules you're on about....if you mean the 10 Commandments Bright-Eyes carved in stone, those were in Exodus, which is OT, which is refuted in the NT by your imaginary hippie friend Jeebus when he said "it is a new world, and that which came before is no more."
So....yeah. Fuck you.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
