"they were called "dragons" and are quite possibly upon which the Knights of the Round table legends are based."
Yes, that's right [/hyper-patronising]:

...and as your literal 'Word of God' also mentions Unicorns, therefore "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" is a documentary, amirite?! [/hyper-sarcasm]
And if [/Spartan Laconic Wit] 'legends' are the basis of fact according to your logic...:

...therefore you're acknowledging that Kim Jong-il is Jesus - as he was the son of the Eternal President (who controls the weather) Kim Il-sung - and sits astride Rainbow Dash, in the guise of the legendary pegasus Chollima, to form rainbows.
After all, all 'legends' must be fact. Amirite...?!
@Mech610
"Those stories are fiction. King Arthur either never existed at all or was the amalgamation of about 12 historical figures."
There is speculation that the basis of one of those 12 was perhaps a Roman soldier of fairly high rank who stayed in Britain after the Romans left, and the Dark Ages started; Christianity was in it's infancy - but growing - in the Roman Empire at that time, thus the 'legends' of Joseph of Arimathea, Glastonbury Tor, the Grail in this country, thus the Arthurian legends & all that jazz.
...still, no doubt you appreciate how it all makes for a cracking good story (one word: "Excalibur"), one that has great cultural power in my country, even to this day.
Also how such has entered popular culture; and not just in this country: DC Comics' "Camelot 3000", a Sci-Fantasy (with excellent art by Brian "Judge Dredd" Bolland). Also used by J. Michael Straczynski in an episode of "Babylon 5", and in recent years Type-Moon's "Fate/Stay Night", with him reincarnated as the female 'King' Arthur, Sabre.
