Natural self control. You know, the whole "human" part of your brain? The more front it is, the closer to the end of evolution it is. Most people act at the back of their brain, which doesn't allow for intelligence. So really, being unable to control yourself sexually is a sign that you are, after all, retarded.
Wanting sex, after all, is a brain disorder and not human. Hedonists should be put down for having brain problems.

He's basing his tirade on a case of a British soldier who was injured in a skiing accident and supposedly lost all his sexual inhibitions. The claims made by the family were widely dismissed by medical science. Not that the boy wasn't brain damaged, he clearly was, but that the damage was of a specific, sexual nature.
The article is also very misleading. The MoD did (and as far as I know, still does) cover all the medical expenses. The money the family says they sought in the article was punitive damages. The money the "ended up owing" was the legal expenses of their lawsuit, which they essentialy lost because the man was not wearing a helmet. That was in direct violation of policy and orders.
Doctors noted that he had trouble with all impulse control after his accident, not just sexual impulses. He was violent and quick-tempered and aggressive, not uncommon things after a brain injury of this type. To say that it was restricted to sexual behavior is not only silly, but the article itself clearly contradicts such a statement.
And he clearly showed signs of low impulse control even before his accident. Which I suppose isn't exactly unusual for teenage boys in the UK or anywhere else...
This poster basing his case on this incident is just ludicrous.
How could sex, which is normally the only way humans reproduce, be a mental order or not human? What the hell is wrong with you? Here's your sexual advice, fuck yourself with a pinecone.
So, self-control to the point of never wanting sex is the objective "end" of evolution? It seems pretty silly that a species would simply die out from lack of interest in propagating just as it reached the pinnacle of evolution.
Part of the problem with the poster's mindview is this: There IS NO OBJECTIVE in evolution, no goal. What works, works, and the species survives; what doesn't, doesn't, and the species does not survive. That's it. Humans are no "more" evolved than bacteria, which are very probably better at what they do than we are at what we do.
I know it's tempting to look down on people who lead bachanalian lifestyles and feel superior to them. But if anything, evolution favors them, because they are more likely to have more offspring than those with a low libido -- so don't be too quick to dismiss that behavior as "less evolved." And it certainly has NOTHING to do with mental retardation; several of the randiest people I've known have also been among the sharpest mentally!

Wanting sex, after all, is a brain disorder and not human.
Then 99.999999% of humans are ... not human.
David D.G.-Well, technically speaking an entire population of people who couldn't stand sex would be an end to evolution, as well as the species as a whole.
The creepy part is that I've met a guy like this in real life. He took every opportunity to point out how disgusting he thought sex was, yet he was always the one who brought sex into the conversation. I remember one time he said that he wanted to be castrated (I'm not sure if he meant a visectomy or actual castration) and that he wanted to create an "Anti-testosterone spray". All that on top of a creepy obsession with his mother made him Freud's wet-dream.
CousinTed, there's a difference between an end and a goal, but I'm sure you know that.
As for the guy you mention -- sheesh, he sounds pretty messed up. The descriptor "Freud's wet dream" seems hilariously apt, however.

Okay, perhaps he can apply his Powerful Brain Powers to the question of budding. He wants to control his body so much, maybe he can figure out how to initiate mitosis on a macrobiological scale through force of will.

Riiiiiight! That whole cerebral cortex is wasted on you isn't it.
So really, being unable to control yourself sexually is a sign that you are, after all, retarded.
Actually, being unable to reconcile yourself with your sexuality implies you might be retarded, but is more commonly repressive conditioning, lack of self esteem and ignorance.
Libkitten There's a distinct difference between being unable to control yourself sexually and actively choosing to have sex.
for a guy at least, being able to control yourself sexually often results in much more sex ;-)
Prude of the month 4th'd. Yahweh, do it!
1) There isn't an 'end of evolution' until life is utterly extinguished. Evolution does not work that way.
2) The brain does not in fact work that way. There isn't a magic bit of the brain that makes you better than anyone else.
3) Being *unable* to control yourself sexually is not the same as *wanting* sex. It is perfectly possible to want sex, and be able to control yourself, to not want sex, but be unable to control yourself, AND to want sex, but be unable to control yourself from avoiding it.
4) Wanting sex is not a brain disorder, it is a basic survival drive.
5) Self control is not the 'goal' of evolution (see 1). It is just the ability to control an impulse in order to obtain some form of reward later.
You failed both biology and psychology.
