[Posted on an article announcing more evidence that cosmic rays affect the formation of lightning]
Do you not see that Allah drives clouds? Then He brings them together, then He makes them into a mass, and you see the rain emerge from within it. And He sends down from the sky, mountains [of clouds] within which is hail, and He strikes with it whom He wills and averts it from whom He wills. The flash of its lightening almost takes away the eyesight. (Qur'an 24:43)
To quote from the article: "The answer to this mystery might lie in how thunderclouds possess vast numbers of electrically charged water droplets and ice nuggets." In this verse, mountains of clouds within which is hail is associated with lightning. The mystery, beginning to be solved now by modern science, was explained more than 1400 years ago. How did this happen? Is it by coincidence or are these signs that point to a greater power and a greater purpose?
