[Regarding 'witnessing' to friends]
Yeah, I've lost everyone basically. All my family, even getting a "you're an apostate" letter from JW aunt. All friends are gone. My neighbors have done something nasty toward me for giving them tracts, my step-brother (he's in his 60's!) called me a name... can't remember what it is now, but a horrendous email. I only have my Christian friends, my son, and my husband left. Jesus did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Keep proclaiming His Word. He is THE way, THE truth, and THE life. If they don't hear it and repent, they go to hell............... forever. Keep telling people about Him! He's worthy of it, we're commanded to do it, and what is your life anyway but a vapor. One day, He will wipe away every tear too!

Actually, not. Of course if Jesus doesn't exist, he will not be doing anything, but if it turns out the Bible is flawlessly true, Jesus will be sending most of humanity to eternal torment in hell. That's hardly wiping away every tear, Amy and/or Elizabeth.
One day, He will wipe away every tear too!

While Jesus did say that people who wanted to follow him should hate their families, this one seems to have gotten it backwards. Instead of hating everyone, she got everyone to hate her!

Here's a tip, sweetheart. If everyone around you is avoiding you, maybe it's you and not them. Or maybe they're afraid your creepy pal Jesus is going to make their children touch one another when they leave them in the room alone with him.

fromdownunder: RR folks are pretty nutty, but I don't think they believe half the shit they spew, they just try to out-holy everyone else on the board. One of them will say "I'm such a good Christian that I don't listen to any secular music". Then someone else says "I'm such a good Christian that I don't read anything but the bible". Then another says" "I'm such a good Christian I don't have any contact with anyone who doesn't believe the exact same things I do". It just goes on and on. It's pretty funny.
Nowhere in scripture does Jesus say, "Spend every waking moment annoying the shit out of people until they just want to choke you." See, dear, that's what we call "counterproductive."
Letting potential converts know that becoming a fundy will lose you all your friends/family, doesn't strike me as a good way to gain converts.
Of couse, there is a percentage of the population whose entire identity is bound up in whining they are persecuted, so they'd probably join asap.
Maybe if you hadn't turned off all your friends and relatives with your constant preaching, your life would be more than a "vapor."
