I, personally, favor using alligators to interrogate captured Al Qaeda operatives...I guarantee you, terrorists are not going to stay quiet when they see one of those babies in the room with them...I have even come up with the interrogation unit's insignia...It will be one of those alligator emblems found on golf shirts....

Would you observe the Geneva Convention in ALL situations though? What if you catch some Al Qaeda agent with bomb making supplies etc., and you know that there is an imminent terrorist plot to kill Americans? What if one of the 9/11 hijackers had been caught the day BEFORE 9/11...Officials know a terrorist plot was about to unfold in America, but not where...Do we still apply Geneva, or do we torture the Al Qaeda operative? I agree, that there are more effective interrogation techniques, but I am not going to take torture off the table in certain, dire and rare situations just because of Geneva...I look at torture the way I do the Death Penalty, not for widespread use, but I want it as an option in certain extreme situations...What about that high ranking Al Qaeda member that we caught about 6 months ago? No doubt of his guilt, and he definitely knew alot of important information...Do we give him food, clothes, medical care, a nice bed, defense counsel, access to secret intelligence so he can defend himself against the charges etc..Because if we do, we might as well just surrender and all convert to Islam now, and save the time and trouble...
We are at war, and we need to fight at the same level of ruthlessness as our enemy...If they don't take prisoners then neither should we...If they mistreat or torture our forces, then we should do the same to theirs... Anyone who thinks that this hasn't been an informal rule for our forces or any military, during the past two centuries, is just kidding themselves...
Japanese forces weren't observing the Geneva Convention in WWII....Hence, I doubt we were either when fighting them....It's only common sense that you treat captured enemy POWs, exactly the same way that the enemy is treating your captured servicemen...

What captured American troops HAVEN'T been tortured and killed...You fight on the same level as your enemy, and the way America has always done when at war...You don't think that we were observing the Geneva Convention when we were fighting in Vietnam? Certainly not in the Pacific Theater during WWII..If the other side doesn't take prisoners, than neither do you...Or to put it another way..."If he pulls a knife, then you pull a gun.If he sends one of your men to the hospital, then you send one of his to the morgue...That's the Chicago Way! And that's how you get Capone!"
The goal of war is the destruction of your enemy..Should there be rules as to how you can kill someone, who is also intent upon killing you? Rules for war...Talk about an ideology of failure, and lack of courage...That's why the "Moral" and "Evolved" nations always get their asses kicked by the more ruthless and determined upstart groups...America needs a Wounded Knee mentality to our current problems...Or Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now...."Give me 10 divisions of such men, and our problems here would be over very quickly..." And don't talk to me about the morals and ethics of the Founding Fathers, who owned slaves of their own...Their concern was only for white, adult, males who owned land...If a captured insurgent or Al Qaeda agent has information that will save American lives, and refuses to disclose it, I don't care how that information is obtained from them..In Vietnam, we used to take such prisoners for a ride in a helicopter....
