Here's a interesting thought (at least to me anyway). This is just speculation and personal musings on my part but what if...

What if... our names that God has written into the book of life (and other heavenly books) also contains our coded DNA sequence? Maybe a small sample of each persons DNA is on file up there.

That would explain how God could perfectly reconstruct from the elements of the earth each of our physical bodies at the resurrection... both the redeemed at the first resurrection, and the doomed at the great white throne judgment.

What if... on the cross as Jesus took on all of our sins and sicknesses, every persons flawed DNA sequences were transposed into His body and blood? In His body the DNA code was repaired to remove the sin element from each and every one of us. My DNA and yours washed and cleansed by the very blood of our Redeemer.

When we, the redeemed, are resurrected or raptured our repaired DNA is exchanged for the damaged DNA (in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye) and we arrive in heaven spotless before the throne of God. The doomed at the second resurrection don't get the exchange and are resurrected with their original damaged DNA code so they wouldn't appear spotless before God. Imagine being in that group and seeing your repaired DNA sample on file, all the time waiting there for you to claim it and all you had to do was believe in Jesus and make him Lord of your life to receive it.

Just my personal musings but to me an AWESOME thought. I have nothing biblical to back these musings up with but I felt a need to share with everyone this thought that has been bumping around in my head for a while.

Well, let's see now. My personal dna pattern didn't exist in any form at the time Jesus was supposedly killed, so it cannot have been taken on by him unless you resort to supernatural explanations, at which point your use of any scientific notion such as dna becomes ludicrous anyway.
Second, dna defines the shape of your body, but it contains no information about your mind. If god were to reconstruct our bodies from dna, he'd have a load of empty shells and no idea whose mind goes into which one, not to mention the fact that, again without resorting to the supernatural, you'd more likely be making copies of people's consciousnesses. The original minds of those bodies would have ceased to exist at the time of death, and even an identically copied mind would not be the same person, any more than it could be the same person if replicated whilst the original was still alive. Since you're already invoking the supernatural by mentioning god at all, of course, it is ludicrous to try and reconcile your beliefs with natural science anyway. If your god is omnipotent and omniscient anyway, why the fuck does he need dna samples when he can just remember everything there is to know about us, down to the last atom? It makes about as much sense as why he's supposedly capable of flooding the entire planet, creating colossal amounts of water out of nowhere, but needs some bloke to build a comparatively small boat for him.

DEATH NOTE ROCKS...
Death Note brings up an interesting perspective on the massive differences in worldview between Japan and America. So, in the story, hundreds of criminals just spontaneously start dying of heart attacks with no apparent cause, and the Japanese public immediately concludes... that there is a PERSON behind this. And the entire series from there is based on trying to track down who that person is. If something like that were to happen in the States, most people would immediately call it an act of God and put no further investigation into it. "If this was done by God, why would it be necessary for him to discover a name and face before he can kill? This is no god. This is an arrogant human being who thinks himself as one."

NotMe - Invoking the concept of an immortal soul is invoking the supernatural, at which point trying to fit any other valid natural science into the hypothesis is meaningless anyway - you might as well just excuse everything away as supernaturally inexplicable and save your effort. Any amount of valid scientific derivation is worthless if even a single link in the long chain of derivatives resorts to the unscientific. In this case, the unscientific link is the assumption that an immortal soul exists.
Anyway, I suspect the duplicated body situation I described is proof against the immortal soul concept - if god recreated you from dna before you died, then surely that would constitute a new "soul", should such a thing exist, just as a child born to you constitutes a recreation of parts of your dna and has no connection to your soul, otherwise you'd have to share your soul across both bodies somehow (sounds both ludicrous and damn unpleasant, not to mention usurping the child's right to its own soul in the latter case and going against the definition of a soul as unique to each person). If creating a full or partial copy before the death of the original doesn't create the same person, soul or not, then why should it be any different after the death of the original?

PROTIP: If it's not specifically (or even vaguely, via 'metaphor') mentioned in the Bible, it never happened. But then, according to your so-called 'Word of God', insects have four legs; so I guess from then - to insects today - they must have evolved, genetically; their DNA changing too.

So congratulations, Psalm 107 & everyone on Ruptured Retards. Via your logic - based on that from your own 'Word of God' - you've conclusively proved Evolution is fact (and that's before I mention Kitzmiller vs. Dover), and - as lifeforms such as insects - haven't stayed as they did when your sky fairy 'poofed' them into existence, thanks for confirming what we Atheists have been saying all along: that we're right, you - and your religion - are wrong, and your 'God' doesn't exist.
