"Canada, France, or San Francisco"
One of these things is not like the other...[/singing]
Canada: Actually, our constitution specifically mentions God.
France: But that would mean, you know, learning French.
San Francisco: What, did northern California secede from the US and I never heard about it?
Also... TREATY OF TRIPOLI BITCH!
The...the hell? San Francisco isn't a part of the US now? It's not Sans Francisco either, so I guess he's just clueless here.
And yeah, "Treaty of Tripoli Bitch!" award seconded.
You should do yourself a favor and stop believing everything you see and hear on Fox News. What to do after you've turned off Bill O'Reilly? Why not take a walk around any large city and notice how many synagogues, mosques and Buddhist temples your see. Why not go to any public library and read the fucking Constitution. Whether YOU like it or not, the United States has no state religion.
Whether you like it or not, the United States is a secular nation. If you don't like it here, then move to Saudi Arabia, Iran, or Alabama.
News Flash! This just in, San Francisco is actually part of the United States.
The United States is no more a Christian nation than you are an historian.
Scary thing is, USAToday actually printed this letter out in their paper
BTW, Mister Spak, you hit the nail on the head.
I've decided to ignore your pitiful knowledge of geography to quote from a letter to the editor in "The Journal News."
/...What interests me is that such a high percentage of people would want a "Christian" nation. Most all of us have some understanding that Jesus himself taught a lifestyle of being inclusive, not exclusive; caring about the rights and welfare of everyone, not just some; and seeking dignity for everyone, all God's children. Jesus taught things like: "Treat others as you would like to be treated; whenever you failed to help any of my people, you failed to help me; love your neighbor as yourself; love your enemies, and pray for those who mistreat you," etc.
The point I'm trying to make is the moment we declare that we're a Christian nation - thereby devaluing and dishonoring non-Christians - we're simply demonstrating that we aren't truly a Christian nation. To exalt and favor ourselves over others is acting contrary to Jesus's teachings. And when we think and act that way, we're only being hypocritical Christians.

Christian nation?, what does it mean the first amendment then?, moreover, since when isn't San Francisco part of America?
This is not a poe, it is worse than people thinking Alaska is still a territory.
And yeah, Treaty of Tripoli.
This one dies for the jab at France.

Thank goodness I already live in Canada. I'd rather not share my country with this idiot.

Seconded
Wow! I must have slipped past the SanFran guards, because I never got my passport stamped.
I am scared to ask this but, "How many States do you think the US has?"
Do you enjoy confirming the cliche that USians couldn't find their own country on a world map, Partyanimalken? (BTW, anyone else finding this screenname rather ironic for a "good, Gawd-fearing Xian"?)
When did San Francisco secede from the US?
Sure, the US is a nation inhabited mostly by Christians, so Christianity will seep into most facets of life. However, you can't FORCE it in anywhere. If it is illegal or unconstitutional, you can't use your religion in that way, nor can you make others behave according to YOUR religion.
Prove it! Show us the founding document signed by the founding fathers where it says the US is a CHRISTIAN nation.
If you can't, shut the fuck up about it!
Bet a bunch of money you can't. And no, just the word "God" doesn't count. The founding fathers were DEISTS, not CHRISTIANS. Learn the frakking difference.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
