"Also, there were probably those who considered that preventing women from getting college degrees was part of the "culture" back then, and that giving women the same oportunities as men would be an example of "cultural collapse"."
Not an example, a necessary causal factor. Women destroy every institution they enter, so it should come as no surprise that their involvement outside the family is a good metric for cultural collapse.
I was laughing at the GoodReads winners selections. You only had to look at the covers to see that women voted for them. And still people wonder why so much literature is shit and book sales are in decline.

I don't wonder, I saw the effects of Dumbyas no child left behind.
Women destroy every institution they enter
Let's forget how obscene and absurd this assertion is for a moment. If women destroy every institution they're a part of, why the hell would you want them to be involved in family? Either you know your blanket statement is wrong or you really hate your family. Which is it?
Actually, the cultures that are least healthy are Islamic ones where women are actively oppressed. To build a strong society, you need everyone involved, not just half.
Seriously, how does Beale here not realize that e books are the reason book sales are going down? I knew that and I'm not even a sociologist.
And still people wonder why so much literature is shit and book sales are in decline.
Three out of the top five of the world's best selling authors are women and two of them are dead and so cannot contribute to any "decline." Cue excuses about how it isn't, after all, about book sales.
How dare you speak ill of the written word you worthless troglodyte. I wouldn't be surprised if you never cracked open anything more difficult than 'See Spot Run.' JK Rowling single-handedly introduced an entire generation to reading while being, charge and decay, a woman. She is one of the richest people in England, The Harry Potter series of movies is one of the most successful ever, and Vox Day will die bitter alone and laughed at.
What was it George Carlin once said? Something about people who ought to be killed?
This is the same guy who advocated acid throwing for women in one of his quotes here, wasn't it?
And this guy is a christian who once said that it was Richard Dawkins who deserved to be shot? (another quote on this site) Dawkins may be insensitive but fuck, he's nothing like this!
I dunno, the parliament still seems to be running fine, unless Margaret Thatcher was secretly a dude, your theory is dead. Same goes for Literature (one only needs to read Harry Potter to know you are full of shit), Chemistry (Marie Curie), Astrophysics (Sally Ride),Programming (Ada Lovelace; invented it!), hell it's hard to find a major institution that HASN'T benefitted greatly from the inclusion of women.
So, women entering the family destroys the family? Got that!
Why do you want to keep women at home, again?
Which woman entered and destroyed you, VD?
Why so much literature is shit? Because idiots like you are able to publish yourselves nowadays.
Why book sales are in decline? Because there are Kindles and Kobos and other reading pads which can hold hundreds of books in one tiny packet.
Women destroy every institution they enter
1. Given: women destroy every institution they enter.
2. Given: marriage is an institution.
3. Assume that marriage consists of a heterosexual monogamous union (as espoused by Pox).
4. Heterosexual couples include a man and a woman.
5. Therefore, by 3 and 4, women have entered marriage.
6. Therefore, by 1, 2, and 5, women have already destroyed marriage.
You gotta love the logic.
When exactly is "back then"? My mother not only wasn't prevented from getting an education, she had a triple degree. In 1942. She taught for 50 years, quite successfully.
As for family--she bore 7 kids.
I don't think this idiot has known any women outside of a few doormats beaten down by religion and custom.
Yeah, women really destroyed literature when Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein. Oh, no, wait, I wrote "really destroyed literature" when I meant "almost single-handedly founded the sci-fi genre, which this pissant GRRM wannabe has the gall to say he knows something about."
Like Marie Curie destroyed Physics and Chemistry.
Like Ada Augusta Lovelace destroyed computing.
Like Lise Meitner destroyed Nuclear Science.
Like Cecelia Payne destroyed Astronomy.
And speaking of Astronomy, have you ever heard of Caroline Herschel? Probably not.
Like Mary Anning destroyed Paleontology.
Like Emmy Noether destroyed Mathematical Physics.
And then there was Barbara McClintock who destroyed Genetics.
And many more such destructive women.
What have YOU ever done that was worthwhile? Nothing!
I think that everyone who lists successful women in any field in response to a person like this fundamentally misunderstands something. People like Vox Day *do not care*.
Of course any sane, rational person can point out examples of both famous and not-so-famous women who have contributed to every field in existence. A die hard misogynist will just point out every conceivable "flaw" in any of them. Lise Meitner was the co-discoverer of nuclear fission, so *clearly* Frisch did all the actual work and just gave her credit to pacify crazy aunt Meitner. Sally Ride *obviously* only participated on both space shuttle disaster investigations because the men felt bad for her for not having a penis. Ada Lovelace's role in writing the algorithms associated with her is controversial and heavily debated, so the only possible explanation is that she did absolutely nothing and just stared at them all day worrying her pretty little curly hair bun thingies about what the numbers meant like a hysterical Agent Mason.
For anyone who doesn't tint their perspective on other human beings with a severely distorted lens, it would be obvious to begin with that women are...well, human beings, just as capable of success or failure in societal institutions as anyone else when oppressive constraints are stripped away. Most people have seen enough members of either sex succeed and fail to recognize that. The view of the world that people like Vox take is so confused and distorted that there's really no fixing it.
Confused?
