"Plasma screens in megachurches are not in the Bible. Why are they in a church, His4Life? Or the SUV the pastor paid for with parish/congregation/(Insert religious gaggle name here) money. Or perhaps iPods. They're not mentioned in the Bible, what are they doing in Church?
Oh, wait. The first one's just there (like the sci-fi characters) to help teach the message, the second one's there because the men teaching the message are corrupt, and the third's there because the people listening to the message don't comprehend the message urging them to live in worldly poverty doing good for others rather than buying throwaway consumer goods."
If said pastors were the Christians they claimed to be (just as Troll4Life - by doing her 'Mission' work in just Mexico, and not, say, in Libya or Cote D'Ivoire for example - proves she's not the Christian she says she is, by not risking life and limb to 'prove' her 'faith'), then they'd do well to remember this little titbit of Scripture:
Matthew 19:21 (KJV): 'Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me*.'
Then he'd wear clothes bought from charity shops (instead of Armani - or even Gieves & Hawkes of Savile Row - suits), ride a bicycle (instead of the expensive cars (plural) he owns, live in a tent instead of the palatial homes (again, plural) he owns; and instead of a huge Megachurch, just stand on street corners and - with a megaphone - 'preach the Good Word'
As with cherrypicking the Bible for anything that goes along with - and helps in enforcing - their own opinions & agendas, they're extremely selective in what parts of the 'Word of God' they want to obey. Funny, that.
And not in a 'Funny-ha-ha' way, neither.
But then, just goes to prove what I've always said: Hypocrisy, thy name is Fundie.
*- And don't you dare give us any of that 'Context' or 'Interpretation' bullshit, Troll4Life. If it's the literal 'Word of God', word-for-word, letter-for-letter, then it has to be obeyed, word-for-word, letter-for-letter. If you disagree, then it's not the literal 'Word of God', and you'll have just admitted that the very basis of your so-called 'beliefs' is nothing more than fiction. Bullshit. Which therefore has no right to exist - least of all acknowledged as 'Truth', 'philosophical' or otherwise.
@Troll4Life
"His4Life
"Why do they dress up as science fiction and fantasy characters?"
Why do you & your ilk 'believe' in an invisible sky pixie that doesn't exist? (PROTIP: Russell's Teapot. The Invisible Pink Unicorn). A rainbow doesn't actually physically exist, but at least it can be seen. That's not a fantasy - when it can be seen by more than one person. Characters in Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Comics/Manga & Anime don't actually exist, but they can be seen. Have you or anyone actually seen this 'God' of yours, Troll4Life? But then 'faith' isn't just the ultimate fantasy, it's the ultimate delusion.
"Yes, but Jesus, Moses, etc. are in the Bible. I don't see why the sci-fi characters are relevant to a church service."
So is a talking snake. Or bats being birds. Or rabbits chewing their cud. Or that goats bred near spotted poles take on the same fur colouration characteristics as said poles. Or that Pi = exactly 3:

I don't see what relevance the Bible has to reality (other than a fairy story taken too far):

Your point?
