Koko the gorilla had a vocabulary of about 1000 words based upon the American Sign Language and could understand more than 2000 words of spoken English.

Yet they don't accept that the Earth is round, nor do they realize that the Bible is written in human languages or that Jesus was Jewish. Considering the plethora of differing human vocabularies, what are we talking about here? English? Traditional Chinese? Universal Sign Language?
If we can't even agree upon a single language within our own species, how can you expect a Chimpanzee to share it?

Just because we state that chimps share 97% of our DNA doesn't mean they are identical to us, just very similar. Chimpanzees do not have the vocal structure for human speech. They are capable of communications, however. Scientists have taught chimps and gorillas sign language.
That's because chimps don't have the physical necessities for speaking. They can, however, be taught some sign language since they, too, possess the fine motor skills needed for it.
And yeah, time will eventually see our species fade away. With luck we'll have evolved into at least one other species rather than simply being wiped out completely.
Except that the ability to use language is a VERY small piece of genetic code. If you compare the parts of the human genome and the parts of the chimpanzee genome that actually code for things used by the body, you will find that indeed 97% of the code is identical. It's that 3% that makes all the difference.
It's actually more like 98%. Of our DNA. Not our vocabulary. In any case, chimps can communicate through sign language at about the language level of a four year old, so they can share our vocabulary. They can't speak, but that's only because of the placement of their larynx. It's down too low to allow them to form words.

I speak english and deutsch fluently but, like many people, I know "hello" and other basics in many languages.
I'll grant you that chimps and other non-human apes can't vocalise any human language, due to a different arrangement of vocal equipment; however, as others have pointed out, they have demonstrated the ability to learn and understand the mechanics of "human vocabulary" (by which I assume you mean American English). How much of chimp vocabulary have you ever learned? Do you think they'd consider you less evolved on that basis? And what the Hades does any of this have to do with whether or not evolution is true anyway?
If you take a look at chimp society in the wild - any decent wildlife documentary will do - you'll observe that they can understand each other extremely well. This is way more advanced than the average bible-thumping reality-denier.

Chimps are capable of understanding human language. Some argue (based on the previously-provided evidence) that they can speak it as well. The problem is that chimp tongues are longer and thicker than human ones, so they don't provide the agility required for human speech.

But babies don't talk, either, so how can they be 100% human?
Come to think of it, fetuses don't talk either, so abortion should totally be okay.
And parrots can learn to talk, so by this logic they are close to being human!

Extending that logic, that means since I don't speak Chinese, I can't have a common ancestor with a Chinese person who can't speak English.
Apes can learn that human words represent objects and even some abstract concepts like feelings. They can use those words in new combinations on their own. If they had the equipment, they'd likely be able learn to speak human words. How is this proof that evolution is stupid?

Gorillas do share some of our vocabulary. They can be taught sign language and can then talk with us and with each other, and teach each other the sign language too.

Vocal chords are different in chimps so no they cannot speak, However Gorillas have been able to understand humans and communicate through sign language. Therefore you fail.
