I’ve started to realize that transcultists are really just MRAs who like to perform femininity. These folks are cut from the same cloth. The misogyny of people who claim to “feel” like a woman is staggering. It’s weird. It’s as if they think their version of “woman” is more authentic then those of us who were born women. Well, that’s male privilege for ya!

I don't understand transsexuality, but my personal experience of them is that they just want to be left alone to live their lives.
MRAs and other neo-chauvanists (sp?) on the other hand are wankers who vocally despise one half of the population and loudly insist that most of the other half has been brainwashed.
There really isn't any comparison.
What about the misandry of people who claim to "feel" like a man?
Who says they think they are more authentic than born women?
Besides, they ARE born women, just with the wrong plumbing.

Now that you mention it, radfems are wankers who vocally despise one half of the population and loudly insist that most of the other half has been brainwashed. Not so different, huh?
Also, if you wanted to know, it's "chauvinists".
@ Evgir Unslaad
Yes, that is undoubtedly true. And thanks for the spelling.
Of course, some (not all) of these radfems have suffered enough abuse to convince them that every man is like that. You'll never find an MRA who was raped by his mum and his sisters.

FTFY.
@Nomen:
While I'd imagine that most people would be curious how the other half experiences things (including myself), I'm sure that most of us would settle into being one gender most of the time once our curiosity has been satisfied.
"those of us who were born women."
They were born women just like you were. Asshole.
That you somehow take misogyny out of this is a testimony to your ability to find hatred of women where literally none exists, and says a lot about you, none of it good. It says nothing about the objects of your hatred.
@Noman
The difference between a trans and cis is that a trans would prefer opposite of 'base' and Cis would prefer the base. Though the trans-cis is a continuum so you would have a number of people who might alternate more than others (Closer to middle compared to closer to the far sides).
It's a bit of a complicated issue, but the self-loathing trans people suffer from being forced to bottle these things up is quite real.
> thought experiment: let's say each human comes with a two-way switch built in, one setting labeled "male", the other "female". flip your switch and the change is instant, painless, complete, and totally reversible. and the hypothetical questions: how often would you be flipping your own switch? how much time do you think you'd be spending on your "original" setting as opposed to the other one? and don't even TRY to tell me you'd never flip it at all, i'd laugh in your face as i called you a liar.
If every human had it? Possibly multiple times a day, to be the "appropriate gender" for whatever setting I'm in. Like changing clothes, it would quickly become a cultural signal.
Actually, Ursula LeGuin wrote about a world where people were without gender until heat/rut, and then they never knew which one they'd be, because it might not be the same as last time.

What's a "version of woman"? Isn't the whole point of feminism that there is no platonic "woman" to which women are supposed to aspire and conform? I'll agree that a trans-gender woman who was raised as a boy might end up behaving differently than one who was raised as a girl from the git-go - especially one whose behavior has been shaped in the dog-eat-dog jungles of middle school girlhood - but I'm surprised to hear a feminist suggest that some women are more "authentic" than others.
"It’s as if they think their version of “woman” is more authentic then those of us who were born women."
That's not it. They think their “version of woman” is *just as* authentic as women who were born bio female.
@Goomy pls - TERFs believe that trans women are either 1) sex predators trying to infiltrate women's spaces so they can rape, or 2) mentally ill men who actually hate women because they want to live as women. Trans men, on the other hand, are considered self-hating women who have "given into the patriarchy" and are trying to escape their female-ness.
> If you'd care to find a topic that people care even less about, pontificate on advanced calculus.
Speak for yourself; lots of people like math!
While it's true that the biggest misogynist I ever personally met was trans, he was a transman--by your (fucked up) standards, a woman "who like[d] to perform [masculinity]."
The reality was that he didn't like his mother and he didn't like his own body, and he took it out on anyone and everyone who identified as a woman.
Just goes to show that genitals have very little to do with gender sensitivity.
Confused?
