Has Easter lost its religious meaning?
Not to me it's has not. Although given the massive influx of muslims, I'm sure the Government will soon be force to ban Easter (and Christmas) because such events are seen as beeing racist.

Yeah, it's like when the waves of Irish immigrated 100 years ago and they forced everyone to become Catholic. And, remember how the Jews force us to participate in Yom Kippur? Oh yeah, and when the atheists closed all the churches? Golly, I'm gettin' so scared.

Religion is not a race, retard.

The US Constitution says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof " So banning Easter or Christmas would be illegal in the US. In the UK, the Church of England is the established religion, so they would have to disestablish the Anglican church before this could even be considered.
'sigh' as much as he is a paranoid idiot, he's disturbingly close. already there's a mall where I live that got sued for putting up Christmas trees, didn't fly, but now you can't find any decorations in that, and some other malls.
no government ban will ever fly as long as there are more than three sane people in government with a spine, but that doesn't mean the P.C. police won't bitch and whine every time someone get's pointlessly offended by something that's none of their business.
Well...to be honest Bob has a point - though he exaggerates it. British policy makers have a knack for banning or stripping traditions that are related to Christianity and or native Britons and hence 'offensive' to Muslims in particular. (Christmas lights from Oxford, Christmas cards from hospitals, dogs on ad campaigns for the police, piggy banks, flying the English flag etc.)
Their apparent desire not to offend certain sensitivities even has many Muslims scratching their heads in bafflement.
Canada's fallen into the same 'white mans burden' syndrome as england. We can critisize ourselves, our institution and our history to no end but to offend anyone culturally is out.
it does lead to stupid restrictions that show a bias to politically correctness.
As with every multi-cultural nation I think it's only a small group that pushes these issues or cares in any way. If our goverment would stand up to petty complaints those complainers would give up to.

Please learn the meaning of the words muslim (which should be capitalized), government (which should not be capitalized), racist, easter and christmas and their pagan origins, and please learn proper spelling and grammar and syntax. Thank you. Fucker.
Actually, Muslims like Easter, because they get the Friday off to go to their mosque with their family and friends--most can't, obviously, do to work. Try knowing what you're talking about, it helps.
Besides everyone loves a holiday. Ignorant Fucktard.
