Because, not only is a little comic relief an excellent way to remind us that life isn't to be taken too seriously, Fundy-ism is also a serious problem and a blight on many peoples lives, and we wish to draw attention to that.
*cough* Says the T4C poster. How many times have they denounced....well, just about everything except the Word O' GodTM as stated and believed by them, and only them...without actually knowing what the hell they're talking about?
Oh, we comprehend it. It's because we comprehend it that we find it amusing and, at times, depressing or morally terrifying.
You might want to ask yourself the same question. Most of the posts I've seen from that site have been pretty ignorant, if not downright hateful. And you certainly seem all to happy to attack people based on their sexuality, or mode of dress, or to attack science in general.
Like the other Mrs. Lace quote above, this isn't fundie in it's isolated context. in isolation , is fundie, not just if the persona who made it is a fundie or the site it came from is fundie, even if the site really spins our nipple-nuts and sends us to Alaska.
We have to make sure that out mockery focuses on the fundie content of their posts, not them personally.

I don't attack or destroy things that I don't comprehend. I learn about them first. What I enjoy is attacking the people who purposefully lie, whether it's their own agenda or stupidity, and those who are so adamant that their way is correct, despite complete lack of evidence.

Why do fundies automatically assume that non-fundies don't comprehend their beliefs or haven't read and understood the Bible? It's precisely because many have a good understanding of fundie beliefs that they have rejected them. Fundies, on the other hand, seem to actively avoid learning anything that might challenge what they've been taught, some even to the point of home-schooling their children.
Indeed, to keep quiet would be to fearfully accept the psychotic delusions in which name theyre apparently willing to kill, or at least emotionally maim for.
Ol' Lacy's got it all backwards. I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally stick to attacking things I comprehend.
Sandman: Point well taken. In future, for a post like this to be accepted, it should at least include a lead-in of, say, the comment to which the featured poster is responding, to better indicate why the post is fundie; if that's not sufficient setup for it, then as much as it might be appropriate when one knows the poster and/or the situation, it really shouldn't qualify to be posted here.
Why? Because frankly, I'm tired of it. nothing about the neurochemistry and genetics of a gay person, and yet your words have condemned many to death. Those of us that stand up to your bigotry are seen as "infringing upon your personal rights". You think of nothing but your own little world, and sit in sanctimonious complacency while judging the people around you.
It is so easy for you. Any statement that is in conflict with your faith is simply the devil's work. Has it ever occurred to you that spreading hate and intolerance is doing the great evil?
If you want to follow a code of behavior from a bronze age society, that is absolutely your right to do so. You do not have the right to support, encourage, or initiate violence against me when I choose not to do so myself.

You don't get it. It's defense, not offense. Every time the fundies want to seize a little bit more of our time, our space, or our laws, we fight back the best way we can. We mock, and we sue. This is the Mocking Department. It's a team effort.
