I've been reading lots of these comments and other kinds of written quotations after receiving the link from a friend.
I really don't know what to think.
I have had a feeling that too many people in America and specifically the USA are really not able to look past their own noses, but if the comments I've been reading here are really the true beliefs of citizens of the USA, it's actually worse than I thought.
I just hope that the great country on the other side of the atlantic will some day be able to move into the modern world for real, leaving religious fundamentalists of all kinds behind.
If there are any christian fundamentalists reading this, of the kind that have been quoted on this site, I have to say that your views are in almost every aspect alike to the ones expressed by the Mullahs of Iran, or those expressed by Bin Ladin of Al-Quaeda. The only difference is really what "one and only truth" you are proclaiming. You are, actually, praising the same God even. Just in different ways. And you're telling everyone your way is the correct one and everyone else are wrong.
An intereseting thought, considering that protestants, exepcially in northern Europe, proclaim that there is not one single correct way of praising God, and that you will be taken into his embrace as long as you praise him and have love for him in your heart.
Myself being an atheist I don't believe it either way, but the protestant view just seems more appealing and more true to the basic message of your revered Bible. Unless, of course, you only look in the old testament. But if you only look there, you are in essence a jew and not a christian, so that may prove a problem...
