["Didn't St. Mel Gibson's father deny the holocaust?"]
I deny it too, so what? How do you know that really happened if you are not allowed to research the subject? If it really did happen exactly as the West would like you to believe, what are we trying to hide by making examination of the “facts” illegal?
Why is the denial of the existence of God Himself legal but that of the Holocaust is not?

Yes, ignore all of the holocaust survivors and video footage, etc. that does exist. If you can talk to that many people who experienced it and have seen it, it existed.
The denial of God is not a matter of legal, but the reason people do it is because of a lack of sufficient evidence.
There are also books written about the holocaust, if you decided to read something other than the Bible, you'd realize that books have information.
"I deny it too, so what?"
You and he are both morons.
"How do you know that really happened if you are not allowed to research the subject?"
Who is stopping anyone from researching the subject?
"If it really did happen exactly as the West would like you to believe, what are we trying to hide by making examination of the “facts” illegal?"
To what "facts" are people being denied access?
If these "facts" support you denial, why do you put "facts" in quotes?
"Why is the denial of the existence of God Himself legal but that of the Holocaust is not?"
Because the existence of God is contended without supporting evidence, the holocaust is very, very well documented. Only class "A" morons deny the holocaust.
Denying the holocaust is nigh on insanity, what with the remains of the camps, the countless testimonies from survivors, photos and videos of the malnourished and half-dead innocents, and the sudden 'mysterious' disappearance of several million unfortunate people.
By all means, don't let reality get in the way of your twisted view of the world, though.
Why is the denial of the existence of God Himself legal but that of the Holocaust is not?
I will agree that denying the Holocaust should not be illegal (it is in some European nations), but denying God is far more reasonable - after all, there is overwhelming evidence that the Holocaust happened, and none whatsoever for God.
To the best of my knowledge, research of the Holocaust (or, for that matter, any other aspect of World War II) is completely legal; I know of no nation that limits it. Everything of a "national security" nature at that time surely must be declassified by now, and even then I can't imagine that such concerns would ever have impacted on any research into the Holocaust.
This spurious claim of research being "illegal" is just as empty as the fundies' contention that they cannot get any creationism articles accepted in scientific journals, when in fact none to speak of have ever even been submitted.

So is denying something that is well documented (the Holocaust) the pendulum swing that hopes to make up for accepting something that is poorly documented (x-tian god)?
It's a sick little tit who refuses to acknowledge an actrocity of such magnitude. Feel good about yourself abby, nobody else is going to.
While denying it should not be illegal, it's a shit storm more harmful to deny something in which millions of people died and which has a great deal of proof versus denying an entity for which there is no proof.
When we begin to forget the past, deny it, then inevitably we will repeat it.
"Holocaust denial is illegal in eleven European countries: Austria (article 3h Verbotsgesetz 1947), Belgium (Belgian Negationism Law), the Czech Republic under section 261, France (Loi Gayssot), Germany (§ 130 (3) of the penal code) also the Auschwitzlüge law section 185, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland (article 261bis of the Penal Code). In addition, under Law 5710-1950 it is also illegal in Israel."

Remove the first and last sentences, and what remains is a decent point IF you live in a country that also restricts research because of this rule. I can think of nothing more pathetic than the fact that people feel that Hitler was not bad enough all by himself, we have to add to the legend a silence the moronic dissidents.
(they may even have a point, but it's still pathetic)
as someone has pointed out, denying the holocaust (or extent of) is illegal in some countries. i think this is wrong, as it makes a certain sector of society think that there's something being hidden.
imagine if questioning evolution was illegal.
i think it's much better to allow deniers to make complete and utter fools of themselves! (more fun too!)
yep. I've known a few Holocaust survivors, too. Is it because people like this are so stuck in their little worlds, they've never met anyone but their own stupid small town neighbours and family, they don't believe anything that happened more than 50 miles away?
"Why is the denial of the existence of God Himself legal but that of the Holocaust is not?"
Because denying or questioning the existence of God makes you a skeptic and a philosophical doubter. If you do it harshly enough, it may even make you a dick to other people.
But denying the Holocaust makes you a historical revisionist and a genocidal apologist. The evidence is there. It happened. The only reason to deny that it happened is if you are seeking to defend the political and social ideologies that brought it about. Don't you know that those who forget (or deny) the past are doomed to repeat it? Many of us don't want that. Last time the Jews got screwed. Who is it going to be next time? The Lebonese? The Palestinians? The Turks? The Kurds? The Christians...? All human beings have a vested interest in preventing this sort of atrocity (even though we haven't really done a decent job of that...), and denial of the Holocaust does not help.
Stupid bint! Seriously! Examining the facts is not illegal, it never was, it never will be.
What is illegal in countries that lost millions of people in the holocaust is saying it is true that it never happened, despite the mountains of evidence, and trying to sounds credible so fuckwits like you buy into it, but in particular saying that the Jews invented the whole thing to further their own agenda.
They did not kill Christ.
There is no Protocol of the Elders of Zion.
There is no blood libel.
YOU ARE ONE STUPID BITCH!
Oh and please research God while you're at it. I'll start you out if you'd like.
You're free to deny the Holocaust in the US and there's been plenty of research published, so why haven't you come up with anything convincing.
Because the Holocaust DID happen.
Now, if you want to be a complete idiot and act like it didn't happen and wind up being hated by everybody I fully support your right to do that and make a complete ass of yourself.
Confused?
