It is interesting stuff. It's funny when discoveries like "The Neanderthal is proven to be a hoax" doesn't even make any kind of news or anything because it takes away from the proof that they want. Interesting what you find out when you do your own research instead of just relying on what you have been told.

i'm going to give michelle here the benefit of the doubt. perhaps she's confused--see, recently (about ten years ago) it was discovered that the neanderthal was not an ancestor of modern humans, as had previously been thought, but actually a totally different hominid species that was wiped out some forty-thousand years ago.
and now operating on the assumption that that's NOT what she's talking about: you're an idiot. plenty of incorrect assumptions and hoaxes have been corrected, exposed, and thrown out in the course of study. that's the wonderful thing about science: they correct their information when the facts change.

20 quids say her "proof" goes something like, "if it ain't in the Bible, it ain't real."
I presume that she is referring to the fact that the first complete neanderthal skeleton to be found had a hunched back and bowed legs. This gave raise to the image of the hunched over, ape like caveman. Subsequently found skeletons indicated that the first individual was deformed after suffering from severe osteoarthritis for many years. This gave rise to the myth that archeologists had created a whole different and erroneous lineage for humanity based on a single, deformed skeleton.
This myth ignored the fact that the original, and subsequent neanderthal skeletons were characteristically short with distinctively thick bones, a jutting jaw and a beetle-brow. Osteoarthritis could not account for those differences between neanderthal humans and modern humans. More than that though, the original, hunched over skeleton suggests that the owner of the skeleton was aided and cared for by his community.
A non Homo Sapien being cared for by his community? And they weren't even Christian? It is not only feasible Michelle, it is a fact!
"The Neanderthal is proven to be a hoax" is itself a hoax and as such is ignored by educated, sane people.
Try doing your own research for real next time, Michelle, instead of just relying on what your pastor, "Dr" Hovind and Glenn Beck have told you. OK?
Confused?
