Atheist
A person who does not believe in God for what can only be one of two reasons:
1) They have not been told the truth that God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, down to Earth and sacrificed Him in order to save EVERY SINGLE PERSON to come after Him. They do not know yet that there has been a holy death in order to lift their sins from them and that they can be FORGIVEN eternally if they simply oper their heart to the love of Christ.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
2) They are aware of the truth regarding Christianity and God but are simply too afraid of how to go about "becoming" a Christian or what people will think of them if they do that they brush off religion as "unproven" and prefer to justify every teeny tiny amazing aspect of beauty on this planet as a work of "science" and pretend to feel content.
There is absolutely NOTHING that can fill the emptiness of the human soul completely except for Jesus Christ. DO NOT settle for being an Atheist when there is something truly so much better out there.

And for those of us who have heard it, but have also experienced something that shows your religion to be false, have read the Bible and found it spiritually empty, etc? It isn't just one of 2 reasons. Hell many people are atheist because of your religion.
person who does not believe in God for what can only be one of two reasons:
1) They have not been told the truth that, "You can get ANYTHING YOU WANT at Alice's Restaurant. You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant. Walk right in it's around the back, just about a mile from the railroad track, and you can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant."
It's written down, so it must be true, and it makes as much or more sense than that Bible story, so Come on! Sing along everybody!
2) They are aware of the truth regarding Christianity and God.
Yup.
3)They realise the Bible is a load of bollocks, therefore Christianity (certainly that extreme brand promoted by fundies) is a load of bollocks too.
4)The 'God' fundies claim to exist can't be PROVED to exist to the satisfaction of Atheists. Therefore why should we accept the existence of a 'God' who can't actually SHOW himself?
Atheist, n
1. One that has no belief in gods.
Fundie, n
1. A fundamental baptist.
2. One that spews forth bullshit.
3. Argument from ignorance with arms and legs.
Evidence? Any? At all????
And, douchebag, we were all told the "truth" at some point, it is kind of hard to miss out on the "truth" in this society. But what most of us free thinkers have decided is that the "truth" was, well, kind of a huge steaming pile of bullshit. Much like your entire post.
Thanks for playing.
"Holy death, Batman!" That's a new one.
3) Your god is an incompetent asshole, plain and simple.
[Atheist A person who does not believe in God for what can only be one of two reasons:]
Half right.
It's true that atheists don't believe in dieties--that's the definition of atheism. However, it's not true that there are only two reasons to be an atheist.
For example, people who were religious but lost their faith are not covered in either of your two scenarios. Neither are people who have read the bible and rejected its teachings.
[There is absolutely NOTHING that can fill the emptiness of the human soul completely except for Jesus Christ.]
That's a ridiculously broad statement.
[DO NOT settle for being an Atheist when there is something truly so much better out there.]
Better? How?
"There is absolutely NOTHING that can fill the emptiness of the human soul completely except for Jesus Christ."
He's obviously not so good, however, at filling the emptiness of the human head.
They are aware, not afraid and probably know the bible better than most Christians.
Why do they keep giving scripture? Non-Christians do not look at this as proof positive.
"A person who does not believe in God for what can only be one of two reasons:"
Those reasons both suck and aren't even remotely close to reality. Step away from your false dichotomy fallacy and go with the third option: no fucking evidence .
"There is absolutely NOTHING that can fill the emptiness of the human soul completely except for Jesus Christ. DO NOT settle for being an Atheist when there is something truly so much better out there."
I've found reality to be much better than an imaginary friend. Unless you happen to be about four years old anyway.
"They have not been told the truth that God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, down to Earth and sacrificed Him in order to save... (Blah blah blah, I don't give a shit.)"
That's a problem right there. An assertion is made, but no evidence is given that supports the assertion.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His-"
Shut up. The Bible doesn't count, because it's a book of mythology. No further evidence supports this Bible verse.
"They are aware of the truth regarding Christianity and God but are simply too afraid..."
Argumenting 101: never make an argument like the one above. It can be equally used against you, and it's very aggravating.
What about those atheists who were raised in your type of church and in "god like" families that saw the hypocrisy, idiocy, and phoniness of it all first hand? What about those of us that feared not being Xian more than fearing "how to go about "becoming" a Christian"?
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
Wow, how nice of him. Do you know any other verses? For example, just 2 verses later we see this nugget:
"...but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Maybe (in part) the reason we're atheists is that, no matter how hard you guys wish it were otherwise, sending people to hell just because they don't believe isn't the act of a higher being. If I put a gun to your head and tell you I'll pull the trigger unless you get down on your knees and tell me what a great guy I am, you'll (rightfully) conclude that I'm an asshole.
I don't even have a soul, but my consciousness is quite content thank you.
Now take your little superstitions elsewhere.
It's buried pretty deep

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son"
He sacrificed himself to save us from... the punishment HE gave us? Real loving...
Is it really such a big sacrifice if you are an omnipotent being and know that whatever you sacrifice, you'll get it back anyway? Of course, getting crucified (let's assume it happened) having done nothing wrong must've been painful and horrible, but some people have probably gone through worse than that.
I simply don't give a shit. I'm sure there are many others who would agree. I don't give a shit about the Spook in the Sky, who may or may not exist, and his followers are no picnic, either.
Jesus is cool with me, though. His fanclub, though, at times... yeesh.
Or maybe it has something to do with the complete and total lack of evidence? Ever think of that?
If your god is so bloody omnipotent, and he wants me to believe in him, he can bloody well come down here and tell me he exists to my face. Or he can reprogram my brain to believe in him.
Since he hasn't done either of these things I must conclude that either
a) He doesn't give a shit whether I believe in him or not
or
b) He doesn't exist.
Wrong. I spent years having that so-called "truth" recited at me. I've heard it almost as often as I've had hot dinners, and it made less sense as I grew older to the point where I could see that it made no sense whatsoever.
This makes point 2) moot. Having come to the firm conclusion that (all) religion is bunk, why the flying fuck would I entertain the notion of going back to it? This would be like going through a messy and expensive divorce - and then remarrying the same woman the next day. Are you nuts?
I won't even go into the list of things on this planet that are not quite so "beautiful" as you'd like to think your non-existent god made them.
Talor the "not-so-scene-girl" must either be Jack T. Chick, or his daughter. I mean, people (presumbably including adult Americans) who convert to Christianity after being given a single lecture, followed by one of Chick's stock verses?
For god so loved the world...
...that he said "Fuck You!" and then he killed everyone, including men, women, pregnant women, children, infants, animals, plants, insects...

Prove that the human soul exists.
Prove that the human soul is capable of having a hole in it. Prove that it will not fill in any hole made in it.
Prove that gods exist.
Prove that your god exists.
Prove that you can determine the shape of a god.
Prove that you can determine the shape of your god.
Prove that there is a "god-shaped hole" in the human soul.
Prove that this "god-shaped hole" is in the shape of your god.
Prove that this "god-shaped hole" shaped like your god can only be filled with belief in your god, and nothing else.
"A person who does not believe in God for what can only be one of two reasons"
Which god? There are thousands of gods. And how do you know it is only two reasons? How do you know there aren't other reasons? Have you examined every other possible reason, including all of those for every other possible god?
Yes? Prove it.
Or they just realized that Christianity/Islam/Judaism/Hinduism/Buddhism/Ba’hai/Sikhism/whatever religion they were raised in is just another mythology, exactly as all the others, with exactly the same amount of evidence for them as the others (i.e. none).
Atheist - a person who does not believe in any gods, goddesses or other deities.
1. I had Christianity lessons a couple of times per week during my first 3 years in school, and then I had Religion lessons two or three times per week during the next 9 years. I have been told about most gods and goddesses, most religions. They all have the exact same amount of evidence in their favor - none whatsoever.
2. I was sort-of Christian when I was younger. The more I learned about it, and other religions, the less sense it all made.
The aspects of beauty on this planet are the work of Nature, and so are all the aspects of ugliness, disgust and horror too.
How do you know that Christianity is "truly so much better" than all the other religions?
"They do not know yet that there has been a holy death in order to lift their sins from them"
Because not one of you, from Popes to laymen have ever explained how that works, you just keep saying it.
I'm definitely not accepting second hand scapegoat logics as a belief system. You'd do as well throw the Chewbacca defense at me.
Confused?
