This is actually true. Democrats will cheat. Republicans will cheat. Everyone will cheat.
It will just be a giant contest to see who the bigger bullies are + special interest groups pursuing narrow goals. To me that's cheating. They aren't really presenting a coherent and scientifically minded way to push human progress further.
I won't be rooting for anyone unless they're an accomplished scientist and have a coherent vision for making the stuff of sci-fis a reality. One thing I'd like EVERYONE running for office to do is answer the question of how they plan on getting us to Mars? I don't actually expect that in my lifetime, but I expect a true leader to have an idea and start funding it or similar projects.
Start watching for more of this meme to spread in the next few months. Early straw polling is showing a big loss for Republicans coming this year, and they've responded by getting the meme machine churning now to fill people's heads with the idea that any gains by Democrats are evidence they cheated.
