This "it happened, therefore it's God's will and it's good" argument is yet another one that even the people who use it don't really believe. If they really thought this was true, they'd think that child porn was fine ('cuz it happens), or, say, the majority of the world not being Christian is fine.
It's just a convenient conversation-stopper that they drag out when they feel it will get them to the conclusion they want to draw. There are a lot of those with fundies.
