I used to work at a cleaners last year and one day out of nowhere 2 black guys came in with guns and robbed us!!! The only ones in there was me and another lady and of course the robbers.
God however protected us from harm and none of us were hurt.
Tell me that wasn't God... I know God was with me

You do realize that in the vast number of robberies, if you give them what they want, they won't harm you. In most cases they won't harm you if you don't give them what they want, but why risk it?
I'm always astounded when some fundie does the right thing, yet insists that it "was all God." You didn't get hurt because you didn't resist 2 men with guns. Bravo! It appears you do, in fact, have a brain in your head. But that decision was yours, if God were taking care of it, wouldn't he have provided a few handy cops? (And to make sure you were comfortable, I'm sure he would have made sure the cops were white.)
And their skin colour matters how?
If you don't get robbed: God kept you from being robbed. God is good!
If you got robbed and beaten: God kept from from being raped and killed. God is good!
If you got robbed, beaten and raped: God kept you from being killed. God is good!
If you got robbed, beaten, raped, and murdered: God sent you off to Paradise and you a. deserved it for your Sins, or b. will be compensated in Heaven! God is good!
Sigh.
Next time that happens you should prove god is protecting you from harm by walking up to them and trying to pull the guns out of their hands. Of course there's always the chance that they don't want to kill anyone and will run away, but since god protects you from robbers you should have no fear of attempting something like that.
Rahab: exactly. Like anybody ever says, "These two sandy-haired guys robbed me" or "Two semi-tall men robbed me," or "Two left-handed people robbed me".
BTW, it looks like god was looking out for the robbers. Definately not the owner of the cleaners.
No, Donna, they got what they wanted and left. If you had resisted, things would have been different.
BTW: Robberies usually happen "out of nowhere".
Tell me that wasn't God...
I am sorry that you had to have a horrible experience like that. But I doubt that was God. Today as I was getting ready to go home from the movies, I saw that my car radio had been stolen. Chances are, it was someone looking to make some quick money for their next fix.
But that was does not prove the existence of God or that He was trying to get my attention. Or the devil.
It does, however, prove that the car thief needs help or jail.
Old Viking : You made me spit my tea! Thank you for the good laugh in a sea of religious fundamentalism.
The robbers came, got what they wanted, were happy it all went smoothly without them needing to hurt anyone and left. So, we know what God gave to the robbers. What did God give you again?
I was robbed at the convenience store I work at during 3rd shift by a white crack head at gunpoint, and I wasn't hurt. Now, was that god, or just the way things played out? I followed everything they ever tell you about a robbery attempt: don't panic, stay calm, don't yell, don't argue with the robber(s), give them whatever they want as fast as possible. Was that god? I doubt it.
Why would gobs help you? He didn't help any of the Midianites, Amalekites, or any of the other scores of men, women (including pregnant women). children, infants, sucklings, and animals butchered in his name in the OT. Think about the scores of men, women (including pregnant women), children, and newborns that died horribly in the flood. He didn't help any of them, so why would he help you?
Confused?
