While I wish the world was rid of the negative impact religion has on humanity, I do not wish the followers of the various religions dead. As long as they follow their beliefs quietly and don't get in my face with it, let 'em be.
I call Poe. I checked the quote, and it seems they've only posted once on that commnutiy, and never replied to a single comment. The person's LJ is empty too. It's possible they created that account to post that comment and watch the sparks fly.

While I don't know who should be responsible for the extermination, the world would certainly be better off without religious ideas. While it might be nice to think that the paradigm will just shift with evidence, most of the "fundies" are too far broken to be changed, and they have kids who will likely end up following. Perhaps "gotmehigh" doesn't have the rhetoric part down, but the idea that through some method we need to reduce and eliminate irrational and non-empirical thought is not off base.
This is hatred, pure and simple. That is what I can't stand. I don't mind religious people if they are nice people who care about others. Hateful people like you, atheist or otherwise, really make me mad.
Now, now. If we can get them to stop beating their children and trying to impose a theocracy, then there's no need for violence. They have their rights to believe whatever they want, and say whatever they want (providing it isn't incitement to violence). We must put up with them, just like we put up with you.

Depending on what brand of Christianity you follow, you may be taught that other groups aren't "Christian". Two bits says that if this isn't a troll, they grew up protestant and taught to hate catholics with a fiery passion.

While this is 'fundie' in the strict 'FSTDT' definition, nontheists don't really have a dogma to 'get back to the fundamentals' of.
gotmehigh is fraking crazy, no doubt, but in the world outside of FSTDT you need a sacred text to be a fundamentalist. It's kind of a requirement.

Actually, my old Dean of Chapel once said that fundamentalism isn't so much a theological viewpoint as it is an attitude.
So I guess that being a fundie doesn't depend so much upon having recognized religious beliefs as it does being a dork about whatever beliefs - theist or non-theist - you happen to have.
Sounds like one of them 15 year old, 3rd-generation-atheist brats, y'know the posers who are born in atheist families and automatically assume they are smarter then everybody else because of their beliefs. Or it could be just a poe as pointed out earlier in the thread. Stupid either way.
