One of the most dramatic examples of God that is directly observable is the movement of microscopic animals.

When I took microbiology in preparation for nursing school, one of our assignments was to view protozoa in pond water. What I saw was protozoa and other critters swimming around looking for food in the tiny bits of algae. Then I realized something that changed my life. I realized I was looking at proof of God’s existence. You know, that thing atheists say if only they had then they would believe.

Below is a couple of links to short videos at Youtube of protozoa swimming around. One thing to keep in mind as you watch is that without a doubt these little creatures have will, choice, decision-making ability, and discerning. All of this is evident as they search for food. All of this is what defines consciousness, but these creatures are only one cell; they have no brain; they have no nervous system; they have none of the hardware we think we use for the same purpose.

In other words, their obvious consciousness must come from outside of them. They have nothing in them to produce it. Where else could that consciousness come from except from the very consciousness that pervades the universe? That consciousness is God.

Atheists want freedom. They want to live their life the way they want to live it, and this is how they define happiness. This freedom costs them everything, but they refuse to see the expense. Like an alcoholic bum pushing a shopping cart down the street, they want what they want when they want it no matter if it is destroying their life or not. In one case it’s the freedom to get loaded any time of the day or night, in the other it’s to do whatever sin they want, often sexual in nature or centering on abortion or rebelling against societal mores, and doing so without guilt.

But is that really freedom? Is it freedom to be turned loose to do whatever you will when no matter what you do in that state leads to your destruction? In the case of sexual sin there is the inevitable destruction of human relationships. In the case of abortion there is the guilt of child murder; in the case of rebelling against societal norms there is the lack of success that invariably follows. Think about it: unless you can clearly see exactly what the future will be, how can you handle freedom? That’s no different than dashing barefoot into a strange building full of furniture and turning out the lights so you can be free to run wherever you want.

Far better than freedom un-distilled is finding a leader who does know the future, is of superior moral character, is infinitely wise, can never die, and when you do die, he can bring you into life with him. Better to purchase such leadership with your unrestrained freedom than to long for the freedom to jump off a cliff just to see how it feels on the way down.

Better than freedom is following Christ. Who can dispute this?

Huckabee or Nothing

This is the problem when Christians compromise: you get scandal, you get war, you don’t get an end to abortion, you don’t get respect for our faith, and you don’t get a balanced budget. You get nothing. You get embarrassment and shame. Even if we can’t get him this election, we must get him next election. I suggest we simply don’t vote, unless Mike Huckabee is the Republican nominee.

If Christians won’t even stand up for themselves, how do they expect to keep the atheistic influence from destroying our nation? It’s not enough to talk about evolution taught in schools and creationism spit on. It’s not enough to talk about the horrors of abortion and whine that if only we could get leaders who would stop it. It’s time to do something!

We can vote for good men like Mike Huckabee in the primaries, or we can sit on the couch. We can’t compromise anymore. To compromise between “the lesser of two evils” still gets us a further spread of the atheistic influence in our society.

Why do Christians fear offending atheists so much? Why do they feel they have to respect the beliefs of those who would throw us into mental institutions and take our children into atheistic protective custody? When it comes to atheism: Stand up! Start now! and Stop it!
