Communism and the overthrow of authority in songs such as "Revolution No. 9," "Working Class Hero," Back in the USSR," "Power to the People," "Sometime in New York City," "Give Peace a Chance," "Bloody Sunday" (which called British police "Anglo pigs"), "Attica State" ("now's the time for revolution"), "Angela" (which glorified communist Angela Davis), and "Piggies." Lennon performed at anti-America rallies and called upon America to leave Vietnam to the communists. He said: "I really thought that love would save us. But now I'm wearing a Chairman Mao badge, that's where it's at. I'm just beginning to think he's doing a good job" (Lennon, cited by Wenner, Lennon Remembers, p. 86). All of them were heavily into immorality. Perhaps Ringo Star put it best: "We got drunk a lot. You couldn't help it. We had a lot of girls. We soon realized that they were easy to get" (TV Guide, July 29, 1978, p. 21). McCartney said: "We didn't all get into music for a job! We got into it to avoid a job, in truth-and get lots of girls."

I think that David Noebel summarized the influence of the Beatles the best. While he was specifically talking about John Lennon, it does apply to the entire group the way I see it. He said on "the present rock 'n' roll scene, Lennon's legacy, is one giant, multi-media portrait of degradation-a sleazy world of immorality, venereal disease, anarchy, nihilism, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, death, Satanism, perversion, and orgies" (The Legacy of John Lennon, by David Noebel, 1982, p. 15).

The Beatles are NOT great hero, role models that should be emulated, but rather shunned as I inciters of rebellion and corrupters of our culture.

I proffer Psalm 1 in conclusion

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."

I should say a few words about Pogs (also called milk caps). I am concerned about pogs for the following reasons. First, many of them have occult symbols on them. Some of them have drawings of pagan gods and goddesses. Many are death oriented, containing drawings of skulls, skeletons, etc. I have seen some that are sensual. Others have shamanistic figures on them or witches. But, there are many that have sports figures on them or even Hollywood stars. Even if your child collects only the good pogs, if he trades them with others, he will be exposed to the bad ones. Do you want that exposure? Second, The QVC home shopping channel announcer made the following announcement attributing it to an organization called the Pog World Federation -- Every stack of pogs has its own aura. You concentrate on your ch'i. That is alarming because auras are rooted in Hindu beliefs and the ch'i is rooted in Taoism. Both have occult implications. Basically they are saying pogs have their own energy or life force and so do the players. To win you need to connect the two. That is the occult doctrine of pantheism. Finally, there is the element of gambling that concerns me. Do you want your child playing pogs "for keeps" as we used to say in marbles? I do not believe gambling glorifies God.

Pokmon has supernatural powers. "Some Pokmon grow, or evolve." This is facilitated by the "Energy cards" that "make your Pokmon bigger and more powerful." And what is the source of this power? It is the pantheistic power of the occult, not the supernatural power of God. I have found two cards that make this very clear (there are likely more). They are Abra and Kadabra. Yes, these are their actual names. "Abrakadabra" (or abracadabra) has been a word long associated with occult magic. Webster's dictionary defines it this way - 1) a word supposed to have magic powers and hence used in incantations, on amulets, etc. 2) a magic spell or formula. It is no accident that the two Pokmon called Abra and Kadabra are psychic cards with magical powers.

On the Abra card we read "Using its ability to read minds, it will identify impending danger and teleport to safety." Then there are the occult symbols on Kadabra. He has a pentagram on his forehead, SSS on his chest and he is giving the Satanic salute with his left hand. All of the above have strong occult significance. It is clear from the Bible (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) that we are neither to participate in nor associate with activities related to the occult.

Some of the readers will no doubt protest, "it's only a game!" To be sure it is a game, but a game that does not glorify God! When God says something is wrong, it is wrong regardless of what form it is in. Not only that, but many of the kids who play this game are seduced into believing the principles that the game subtly teaches. Here is but one example. In the booklet that comes with Pokmon, note what is stated -- "Welcome to the world of Pokmon, a special place where people just like you train to become the number-one Pokmon Master in the World! But what is a Pokmon, you ask. ' Pokmon are incredible creatures that share the world with humans,' says Professor Oak, the leading authority on these monsters. There are currently 150 documented species of Pokmon. . . . Each Pokmon has its own special fighting abilities. . . . Some grow, or evolve, into even more powerful creatures.. . . Carry your pokemon with you, and you're ready for anything! You've got the power in your hands, so use it!"

Listen, kids are carrying around their Pokmon like a magic talisman. Author and researcher Berit Kjos tells of a mom who overheard two boys discussing their little pocket monsters. As the conversation developed one boy said, "I'll just use my psychic powers." It was clear that the so called fantasy world of Pokmon had already conditioned this boys thinking to be receptive to a key occult doctrine - psychic powers!

Pokmon promotes occult values, not biblical values and therefore should be rejected!

Dracula devised a plan to rid society of the burden of all the country's beggars, sick, old, lame and poor. He invited them all to a feast. Little did they know that it would become a house of horror for them. He fed them well and got them drunk and then made his personal appearance and asked them, "Do you want to be without cares, lacking nothing in this world?" Naturally they all said yes! Dracula then ordered the palace boarded up and set on fire. No one escaped. Dracula was a madman. I do not want my child associated in any way with such a degenerate reprobate, do you?

Tragically, there are an increasing number of teens and young adults into the Gothic movement and its offshoot Vampirism. And I must tell you they really drink blood! I counseled a young man for quite some time that got involved in this. He had been a Bible College student, but was expelled after he was caught drinking his own blood. Another young man told me of how he and his girlfriend were into Vampirism. Part of their ritual included sex and then cutting his arm and drinking the blood. He said "the blood lust soon overpowered the desire for sex. It is a demonic craving and desire. It grows and feeds." He went on to say, "Id see people in certain situations and wonder what it would be like to taste their blood, the saltiness of their blood."
