A woman in South Russia’s Stavropol Region has turned to court in an attempt to change the number 666 under which the birth of her daughter was registered in the official book, the Moskovsky Komsomolets daily reports on Monday.

The girl is already two years old, but the woman only recently has learned about the number under which her daughter’s birth had been registered. As a devout Christian, the woman asked the officials to change the entry number as, in her mind, the number 666 was ’satanic’, ’soiled any Christian’ and was ’a seal of Antichrist and a Satanists’ symbol“. The public registry office refused to do so and the woman took the case to court.
