And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way - all of them who have tried to secularize America - I point the finger in their face and say "you helped this happen."

Actually, this is him blaming 9/11 on gay people (and feminists, and pagans, and the ACLU, and atheists, and secular Christians, and your mom, and...). Just a very old quote.
And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad.
If God is mad, why does He need Jerry's help? And yeah, it's not the public school's job to convert other people's kids into Baptists. But Jerry complained and got a school in Virginia to send home fliers announcing a Baptist Vacation Bible School. So then some Unitarians claimed the same privilege and sent home a flier announcing a multicultural holiday celebration, including some Wiccans. Boy, did the fundies hit the roof when they were hoist with their own petard!

I hope this idiot is in hell.
(Also, this quote is far funnier if you read it with a beat. ... ... ... I think my poetry classes have eaten my brain...)
What I wonder is why God chose America instead of Sweden, or Holland, or France................oh yes, because Fallwell was a nut who interpreted things with his ass.
Oh, HERE'S something interesting.
A CNN article from 14-Sept-2001 has Falwell apologizing for saying the above quote:
http://archives.cnn.com/2001/US/09/14/Falwell.apology/index.html
Look at this paragraph from the CNN article:
"I do believe, as a theologian, based upon many Scriptures and particularly Proverbs 14:23, which says 'living by God's principles promotes a nation to greatness, violating those principles brings a nation to shame,'" he said.
Okay, fine, this sounds like classic Falwell, right?
But here's what Proverbs 14:23 ACTUALLY says:
"In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury."
In other words, Falwell knew his Bible about as well as the average Fundie does.
Come on, WTF? Who approved this? This is like shooting fish in a barrel with an RPG.
Falwell was, like, a Lifetime Achievement Award. Don't they retire people who, uh, excel to this degree?
They made 9/11 happen?
How?
"And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad."
Because god wanted to destroy them himself?
Isn't God omnipresent, and omnipotent? How can mere humans throw him out of anything?
God is mocked all the time and he doesn't seem to be doing anything about it, unless you count the three madmen who murdered some 20 people in France the last couple of days. Oh, and the 9/11 apparently. It rather seems that God is on the Muslims' side then... (Although the attack on the French satire magazine has harmed Islam more than it has harmed the magazine. Now everyone in the world knows about the magazine, and even more people hate Islam for what some insane madmen did.)
God destroys millions of little innocent babies every day, in miscarriages and infant deaths.
You're absolutely right; people fighting for human rights for all, have probably provoked these attacks. The terrorists are aiming at stopping freedom of speech, of religion, civil rights for women, for lesbians and gays, for freedom activists, and at enforcing a theocracy. Pretty similar to what you want(ed) to do too, isn't it? The main difference is that you shouted about it from the pulpit, they shot people to make it happen. Perhaps you can discuss it with them, down there in Hell...
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
