This kind of thinking is why I no longer frequent one of the more active blog sites. It's impossible to log on without seeing the most bigoted, ignorant shit in the universe in the featured content area of the front page and trying to help these people gain some perspective is like trying to teach a pig to sing; it frustrates me and annoys the pig. I have had them tell me over and over again that any woman who aborts to save her own life is the most selfish type of bitch alive and deserves to me murdered slowly, and much worse. They are also spreading misinformation about ectopic pregnancy, insisting that it won't kill the mother and that there have been times when live babies have resulted. AbortionTV.com is among the worst spreaders of the 'there is never any reason to abort because pregnancy poses no physical risk to the mother - EVER' myth.

They don't even appreciate the rationale of aborting to save the life of a mother with other children to raise.

Mothers are not expendable, but you'd never know it to hear these people talk. I have long since given up trying to help them see things from a different perspective. They'd rather leave motherless children scattered all over the place with no one to care for them than allow a woman to pass unmolested into a clinic to have an ectopic pregnancy removed. Apparently bleeding to death painfully is okay.

...and these are the people who consider themselves the most moral, compassionate people on earth.

If I truly believed this to be the case I'd have lost all faith in humanity years ago.

For the billionth time:

You've killed more self-aware organisms by picking your nose.

You do not seem to have a problem with the "greater good" when it entails sending other people's children to die as soldiers.

There is no god, and he does not implant "souls" into fetuses with his magic penis.

Your imagination has been perverted by religious leaders with a hidden agenda. The most vocal of them don't give a rat's ass about abortion, except that it's a useful hot button and guilt machine. Some care only because it robs them of another potential sucker to brainwash. Some are just racists, worried that white people will be overrun because they can afford abortions.

If that's how you want it, fine. No abortion. Under ANY circumstances whatsoever. But with two provisos:

1- ALL 'Pro-Life' types must look after all the unwanted babies in the world. Shared equally amongst them, who must look after them on their own, with no help from anyone else - and NO financial aid, neither. If anyone says no, they're summarily executed for neglect. And if anyone complains in any way shape or form, then the whole deal's off, and abortion is made legal worldwide & in perpetuity. With abortions & forced sterilisations amongst fundies & Pro-Lifers made compulsory - and with NO anaesthetic.

2- If any woman who is pregnant, and goes to full term, but whilst in labour complications arise that results in the woman dying in childbirth, but who could've been saved by an abortion, then ten fundies/Pro-Lifers are chosen at random and publicly tortured to death. With you amongst the first batch, Dragoon68.

...what's that? Sounds hideous? Barbaric? Inhuman? Just taking your own logic to your own rational extreme, after all. Still want to continue with your policy...?

On most pro-life stances, I can at least see where they are comming from. Most pro-lifers at least see the importance of keeping the mother alive. They believe the baby should be put up for adoption and honesty believe that abortion is murder.

Its not a world view that I share, but it makes a kind of sense. However seeing a comment such as this, the feelings inside me are just impossible to describe.

I find it hard to believe that there are people who are so hateful and stupid. I actually wonder what causes them to be like this, not even fundie style brainwashing can make someone like this. This goes beyond pro-life, this is pure hatred of women.

Again, your own rationalisations, just to keep you in that river in Egypt over this one simple fact: like I say, the Bible doesn't condemn abortion; if anything, it condones, nay, outright orders it (emphasis added):

Hosea 13:16: 'Samaria will be held guilty, For she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword, Their little ones will be dashed in pieces, And their pregnant women will be ripped open.'
