I don't know if -od will send the non believers to Hell or some other form of punishment, but I find it hard to believe he would allow them into Heaven. If you can get into Heaven and not believe then why would you want to follow any other of -od's rules? Who needs to honor him and worship on Sunday? Why can't I cheat on my wife? No mater what I do I go to Heaven. Of course the other question is, Why would a non believer care if they get to go to Heaven, they don't believe anyway. They are nothing more than a meat computer doing what they have been programed to do by the great nothing.

Yes, od is indeed od. But if od is really so od, I bet he really doesn't care if you spell his title out in full, especially since he appears to have about three hundred different names.

And do you really think the reason we aren't hip deep in murdered bodies is because GOD gave some directions against murder (he clearly doesn't mind casual murder; he sure directed his believers to do a lot of killing in his name)?

I mean, da lawd didn't give us any directions regarding drunk driving, intellectual property theft, environmental protection, licencing animals, food inspection and on and on, and yet we appear to have come up with some laws regarding these issues all on our lonesome.

We are smart all by ourselves. We don't need a Big Sky Daddy.

And methinks that's what this is all about, the nub of the whole 'belief' & 'faith' gist: you are the ones who are terrified of what'll happen to you, and for two reasons:

It certainly explains why - in Hurricane Katrina - whole swathes of the religious parts of Louisiana were destroyed, with churches completely annihilated (PROTIP: that 2 mile-wide tornado hitting Oklahoma some months ago), yet the 'Sodom & Gomorrah'-esque French Quarter of New Orleans emerged with nary a scratch.

2- Why do you fundies need an 'Afterlife' to (even think you'll) go to in the first place? Seems that it's you lot who are more the lovers of this world, this life right now, and are brick-shitting scared of Death, thus this whole delusion about 'Heaven' as a fluffy psychological security blankie, because the alternative is just too unimaginable for you to contemplate.

We Atheists are not afraid of the inevitable: death. And that is why you fear us.

It's interesting that fundies have adopted this Jewish custom and adopted into their culture. Perhaps they can adopt other elements of Jewish belief, like fighting against discrimination and for civil rights, unstinting charity to the poor and abandoning proselytization.

The Bible says you are to honor and observe the Sabbath. The Sabbath is not on Sunday.

What Xantrawler objects to, as much as people who don't believe what he does, is people who don't have the same religious culture as he has going to heaven. Because that it what much of being a fundie actually is, a religious subculture that worships the Bible.

Liberty might be able to dwell on Earth. only if God, sometimes known as -od (see note), confines Himself largely to prisons and to criminal elements currently at liberty, such as con-men and preachers etc.

Note: Historically, Bible God is often referred to by certain Christian sects as -od. This originated from an old Christian misspelling of odd, where odd meant strange, as in "Bible God is a strange old cove in the sky", ie. "God is an odd Sky Bod".

So if you ever hear a suspected Christian say to you, "Odd is the King of the Universe and I am His Drama Queen on Earth.", reply to him or her, "I think you meant to say that dash od is the King of the ...etc".

Chief among these Christian sects are the Melodramatic Brethren of Gullibility, the Blustering Brothers of -od, the rather more modern the Canting Confounders of the Internet and the closely associated Hysterical Screechers of Jesusland.

Of course, this explains the oft heard reference to the Bible as "Strange Tales of an Odd Bod and His Whacky Son".
