I found [the Church of Google] highly disturbing.
If you ever figure out what parody is you might be dangerous.
In fact, I was Googles biggest fan, till this morning.
Translation: Because I saw something unflattering about The Google and didn't bother to check out the veracity of that because, after all I'm a christian and have conditioned to belive what I'm told without question, just like my pastor says that it says in the bible.
I dont so much mind that [Google] wants to call themselves a church.
Boy, you really didn't get it did you?
And the basic premis is great. But [Google] should have thought out the wording on their page a little better.
See above.
As a Christian I find it highly offensive and it doesnt need to be.
Because as christian you all have a monopoly on religion and the term chruch, right?
There are a lot of Christians in the US.
Except when you want to play the persecuted minority card.
Up till now we have laid fairly low and kept quiet about a lot
"Thou shalt not lie." Exactly what haven't you people felt the need to force your opinions onto everyone about? If you call that "laying low" and "keeping quiet" then you are a liar, pure and simple.
but like it or not we still make up a vast majority, at least in this country.
And your point is what? Your going to force the "Church" of Google to disband? "Vox populis, vox dei" is not how the US works. The whole point of the Bill of Rights is to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. So like it or not you can do nothing about the CoG.
Google will end up pissing a lot of people off for no good reason except as a kind of joke.
A joke which you obviously didn't get. Which, for what it's worth, had nothing to do with Google.
This was a major error on their part.
See above.
I will continue to use Google, I have the home page in every browser on every computer set on Google. It is a way of life for me.
Because, like a good sheep, you will follow the herd.
But they lost some major respect this morning.
Only from humourless people like you, on whom I'm sure oh-so many jokes are lost.
