The punishment meant was to turn them into sodomites a serious punishment and it clearly says what you say is gay is nothing of the such but according to the passage something filthy not to be celebrated in marriage but to be shunned besides their are many examples in the bible how this practice is an abomination Gomorrah was destroyed for the practice and the people their did not break any hospitality rules and it also says in other New Testament writings these people will not go into heaven so again I say bring them to repentance and deliver them from this wickedness not encourage them I might say no where in the bible does it call them gay

I guess in your mind scripture also forbids punctuation, right?

I would be quite astonished if the bible, written in a time in which tribal culture was very strict against homosexuals (who obviously were not recognized as such, the concept isn't that old, though the orientation is) because it was feared that they wouldn't put out enough babies (necessary for the tribes survival) wouldn't call them "gay" and forbid same sex acts (though not the orientation itself). That's the problem though: We KNOW now about homosexuality, about sexual identity and all that jazz. And the bible is NOT the literal word of god, no matter what you guys try to say, but has to be read in the context of the times in which its various authors lived. Otherwise you would also have to deny yourself mixed clothing, shellfish etc. And many other modern conveniences.
