If you seek comfort before you seek Truth, you do not worship my God. If you value the love of yourself - or even the love of others - before the love of God, you do not practice my faith. If you think we have any obligation to associate with you just because you call yourself a Christian, consider this - you aren't a Christian, you never were a Christian, you do not belong in the Church, and unless you're willing to change, consider yourself excommunicated.
I'm not kidding. Go. We don't need you.

"If you seek comfort before you seek Truth, you do not worship my God."
As an atheist, I, of course, do not worship your "God." But, neither do I seek comfort in the delusion that an omni-benevolent, all-powerful being created me and watches over me, nor that if I believe in his son enough I'll live with him in paradise forever.
"If you value the love of yourself - or even the love of others - before the love of God, you do not practice my faith."
Very astute of you. I put the love of others and myself before the love of your imaginary friend. Well actually, I put love of others and self INSTEAD of love for your imaginary friend. No, I do not, cannot and will not practice any faith.
"If you think we have any obligation to associate with you just because you call yourself a Christian, consider this - you aren't a Christian, you never were a Christian, you do not belong in the Church, and unless you're willing to change, consider yourself excommunicated."
Consider yourself an asshat.
"I'm not kidding. Go. We don't need you."
I agree, those bright enough to see the flaws in your theology should leave your church and go find something useful to do instead.
consider this - you aren't a Christian, you never were a Christian, you do not belong in the Church, and unless you're willing to change, consider yourself excommunicated.
You do not have the authority to say such a thing. You do not have a window into others' minds.
Too late. I excommunicated you and your kind already, and then threw out the faith. I'm not looking to join your, 'gang' nor do I care if you care.
Just remember, you have to live with yourself and other people, one chooses to be a sociopath by concentrating on a myth. Now, who's more loving, a concerned atheist or an elitist x-tian?
Haha, maybe this is the best way to get people away from christianity--just excommunicate them, I mean, I have as many excommunication privledges as Pi Factorial here. If we just excommunicate the Christians from their churches, maybe Christianity will collapse.
i've come to the conclusion that anyone who judges people as being unchristian always use paul to make thier arguements.
not once have i ever seen anyone use what jesus said as an argument aganst someone, well other than greedy people.
jesus said love your nieghbor as yourself and love god, he didn't say one was more important than the other
Funny thing is, this wankstain made the ridiculous comments because I'd decided to leave the faith - entirely because of idiots who were spouting that kind of shit in the first place.
Way to show people his true face, eh? ;)
That's why I did leave. I was old enough to think for myself instead of having this shit shoved at me when I wasn't capable of really evaluating life for myself yet.
Most people don't practice your faith, because yours is a fucked up, twisted version of a religion practiced by people who understand rationality and moderation who don't piss me off, asshole.
I agree with Just a Guy. This quote was horribly taken out of context.
This quote from the same post:
In fact, the role of the Church, concerning the outside world, is singular - to love.
paints a whole other picture, doesn't it?
Or this quote:
If, on the other hand, you can see the error of your ways, and admit to the sin in your life - if you don't think God owes you anything, and you truly want to change - the Church is exactly where you belong. Change is what we're about. Love is what we're about.
Taking quotes out of context to prove a point is what fundies do. We shouldn't resort to the same despicable methods.
Wow, isn't so wonderful to see how much better the person who quoted this is? I mean, how wonderful their love must be to take this COMPLETELY out of context to make Pi Factorial look worse than in-context!
And yet if a Christian were to turn around and do the same thing with taking someone else's words out of context, they'd get blasted for it. Irony, oh irony.
Lenna - Funny way you phrase it, given just how skilled that Pif bloke obviously IS at taking someone else's words out of context, and yet other so-called 'christians' applaud him for doing so. That's irony. You just fail.
What's ironic is, when the quote is in context, he's not even talking about reality!
And if you're wondering about that, it's simple... The church, from very early on, has been about power... not love.
“If you seek comfort before you seek Truth, you do not worship my God.”
I don’t worship your god BECAUSE i sought the truth, thanks.
“If you value the love of yourself - or even the love of others - before the love of God, you do not practice my faith.”
I’m real.
You’re real.
Everyone between us and around us is real.
God? Not really convinced, you know?
“If you think we have any obligation to associate with you just because you call yourself a Christian, consider this - you aren't a Christian, you never were a Christian, you do not belong in the Church, and unless you're willing to change, consider yourself excommunicated.”
Consider this: You’re not the one who decides who is and isn’t Christain. God’s very clearly the only authority on that. Jesus talked a bit about people who THINK they’re on The List, but Jesus doesn’t even have them on his Christmas Card list.
This arrogance will probably be reflected in your eventual disposition. If there is one.
“I'm not kidding. Go. We don't need you.”
I’m not kidding, either. You have no idea what you need.
Confused?
