When I was a child the preachers would thunder "repent and accept Jesus or face hell!!! You won't hear that today either. Its too "harsh" and might upset people. I am a christian because I wanted to avoid a hell that I heard about.
And that's exactly why christianity, and protestant christianity in particular, is essentially a selfish and self serving religion. It's not about being a good person because you want to be, it's being good for the sole reason, and express purpose of being rewarded and not punished. the reason protestantism is worse in this way because they reject the premise that one should have to preform good works for the benefit of both himself and his fellow man and instead propagate the belief that they are saved by faith and it matters not if their actions towards the fellow humans were dispicable or not, because they "believe" and therefore get a free ticket to paradise where as the person who spent their life preforming acts of selfless kindness towards anyone, no matter what their beliefs, would surely burn for eternity if they did not strongly believe in the right "god".
The closest they come to actual "good works" is their attempts to bring others into the fold, though that too is tainted because the desire behind it is to score more points with whatever deity by bringing it more souls.
many also might want to know why Islam is of the devil, and once they discovered why, they might repent.
The truth is hard. Someone has to tell it like it is.
But you don't know that to be the truth, because neither your holy book, nor your "god" has ever denounced Islam. And to claim that it is so is to usurp the place of your "god" who has apperently elected to remain silent on the matter. Your religion is evidence that you believe that your "god" can change his mind and go about things differently, so you cannot say for certain that Islam is not another case of your capricious "god" changing it's mind yet again.
