Would clones have souls? Maybe that's why they die so quickly...because God does not endow them with souls...they are copies of the biological aspect of a being--souls cannot be replicated. Souls are what spark life/animate the biological being.

Well, according to Timothy Zahn, the reason that clones become unstable and die is because of the Force. You need to use ysalamiri to isolate them from the Force until they're full grown, then you can let them out into the world.
But that's just sci fi. But we've got about as much reason to believe in Star Wars.
Eh, I dunno. They provided a clever way for a whole bunch of shit to happen. And they -were- good books. What did you think was so bad about them?
But, hell, who am I to question, y'know? After all, the Bible has talking animals in it, right?
I think I read something about how scientists found out what caused the clones to degenerate. It was because of their telomeres. The protective repetition of DNA code. As a critter gets older the telomeres get worn down until the DNA degenerates and various diseases occur.
I hear the cloned creatures had the telomere length of the adults the gene material was taken from, thus, shorter amount of time until the clone would develop the diseases. ne?
I think there are some more factors involved, but that makes quite a bit of sense.
Besides, unicorn seems to be attributing souls to everything, trees, dogs, cats, ebola...
Uh... well, he would be right except then every set of identical twins would be born either soulless or with one twin dead...
Essentially, cloning in its basest form is the same process that leads to identical twins.
Um, clones are basically identical to the original.
To say they lack souls because they are the same is insane.
I guess this means there are only 4 ^ (number of DNA pairs) combinations of souls out there???
Thus we can calculate the human population gap... not.
Re: Last post
Actually, Dolly lived to quite a old age for a sheep, as normally, they end up as lamb products in a supermarket long before then....
Clones died quickly because they used to clone chromosomes with their telomeres already shortened. That's the region near the tips of the chromosome.
A section is consumed for every cell division, so there's a limited number of cell reproductions that can be made, hence eventual organ failure and death. This is actually good in any being with complex organs, as it prevents unchecked tissue growth (AKA cancer).

That is all.
Now...:

...do Unicorns have souls? My what a paradox ...?! >:D
If they're exactly the same being, they'd have a soul. If not, they'd flop out the cloning chamber completely dead, because 'Souls are what spark life/animate the biological being'. Obviously.
EDIT: Anon-e-moose doesn't even need any arguments anymore, he just uses anime women and ponies and we all perfectly understand.
Confused?
