Ah! Another egotistical atheist! A person who believes in worship of self! There are a lot of things I believe based on historical accounts. I believe that Julius Caesar once ruled Rome (but where is his tomb?) I believe Alexander once conquered the known world. (proof?) I believe that the battle of Marathon took place. (where are the graves?) I believe that there once was an island called Kakatoa which self destructed. (anybody out there a witness to that?) I believe that the battle of Concord and Lexington took place (any proof besides eyewitness testimony?
God's existence does not rely on faith. Not yours, not mine. If you choose to ignore the truth, that's entirely up to you. It matters not.

1. Caesar was cremated. If you're looking for a memorial, you'll find it at the Temple of Caesar in Rome. There is a mountain of evidence that Caesar existed written by himself and his contemporaries.
2. He didn't, though he did conquer most of it. That's why there are cities named after him all over the area he conquered. Not to mention the histories, the folk tales etc. etc.
3. There are tumuli at Marathon itself which were excavated in the 1830s from the period. Unfortunately, most of the original artefacts, and plenty of modern fakes, became part of the tourist trade and almost nothing original was left of the sites by Schliemman's visit in the 1880s.
4. The Dutch had described Krakatoa in the seventeenth century and had produced nautical charts which included it up to the time of the eruption. There were attempts to settle it, and there are documents that attest to that. The eruption itself, and the consequences, were intensely researched and documented not only in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) but thousands of miles away.
5. The battle of Lexington and Concord were recorded by both sides. We still have the British battle orders and sworn depositions taken thereafter. We have the letters of those who heard the news, such as Paine, Adams and Washington. There are still graves of those who fell at the battle.

1) Julius Caesar was cremated, but left behind a wealth of evidence of his existence.

2) Multiple eyewitness accounts of Alexander the Great and his military exploits exist, written while he was still alive no less.

3) Burial sites were excavated and the artefacts plundered, making it difficult to identify the dead. The site was nonetheless found.

4) Krakatoa (at least spell it correctly, you dolt) was an active volcano that destroyed two thirds of the island it rested on and sent recorded shock waves literally around the world. The explosions were heard 3000 miles away. Plenty of proof.

5) You're joking, right? First off, there was more than one. Secondly, does 'The shot heard round the world' ring a bell? How about all of the documented accounts from Lexington to Boston, written by both sides? Are you suggesting that the whole thing was made up and part of a huge conspiracy to deceive the American people?

6) Based upon your arguments, I have no choice but to conclude that you are dumber than a bag of dogshit. Dumber than a sack of old doorknobs. Dumber than even the figurative lovechild that might result from the genetic splicing of Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, Bill O'Reilly and Christine O'Donnell. Though I just did repeatedly, I suspect you are, in fact, even too stupid to insult; you'd have to be capable of understanding that you'd been insulted.

The difference is that no one has any real incentive to fake Julius Caesar or the Battle of Concord. Dictators and busy-bodies who want to make rules for others have a lot of incentive to invent a supreme being whom they can then claim actually made the rules and will punish people for not following them. Seeing or hearing God is something that’s too easy to fake, especially when God almost always seems to agree with the opinions of the person who claims to have seen Him. When people have a strong incentive to lie, you need to ask for a little more than their say-so, especially when there are 40,000 people making different claims about God.

God's existence is said to be based on faith because there is no empirical evidence for His existence. There's certainly a lot of evidence for Julius Caesar. We don't need his tomb, too.

1. Julius Caesar: There is not only a book written by the guy but countless official Roman documents, documents from non-Roman people etc.
2. Alexander the Great: Hmm, how about the cities (Alexandria or Persian Ishkenderun) that you can find all over Asia? How about relicts from battles in the same area? Coins with his counterfeit?
3. It is Krakatoa and there is such a thing as geology...you know, the huge explosion left ash all over...and there are different "time clocks" to measure when it happened...
4. Battle of Lexington and Concord: Same goes here, you can dig up stuff in the dirt, there are countless of non-involved people telling about it (e.g. newspapers around the world), at least on the English side there will be army documents etc.
